A bit clunky, but also gorgeous.
Finally got a chance to check yours out, and I thought it was pretty good! Although I'm not versed in Greek mythology, I think it definitely has the atmosphere and style you were going for. The voice acting was also a pleasant surprise!
There were a few small things I noticed mechanics-wise. I initially jumped over the first skill box (whatever it's called), because I had the jump button held down. Just popped right over, didn't think anything of it until I began wondering where my skills were at. Enemies also seem to walk straight out off platforms at times, and stay in the air. I also couldn't figure out how the ending should've gone...I straight-up whipped the tower and it disappeared, and then nothing happened afterwards.
Overall though, I had a good time playing this. Definitely looking forward to the next part. Nice work!
Epic story and voice acting. The game itself is a bit glitchy, but still fun
I really like the voice acting and music in this game.
btw, I can walk through the wall and fall down.
So many content for a 3 days jam, especially since you did it alone! I didn't expect a game with voice acting, it was really nice.
Insane what you did alone in just 3 days! The music was very good. I really like the different powers. The effect when you die is particularly nice.
I have mixed feeling about this game. It's impressing to be done in such a short timeframe to say the least. But it therefore shows a big lack of polish.
The game is grey and relatively colorless, which might be intented. To me it feels rather liveless, compounded by the lack of any interesting animations. The background is great in that aspect: it's interesting and feels alive. A lot more of that would be great.
The gameplay is also samey, but controls great enough. It's hampered by the animation, since they feel a bit disconnected. I really liked the inital gimmick of using full-darkness to hide and imo should be expanded
The music is well made and fits with the theme of the game. It really needs to be a bit louder.
Reading it being the first part of an series, I'm anticipating the improvement from the next parts, cause the lack of polish is the main fall of this game :>
When you say that it lacks animations do you mean like an animation for activating the darkness or something? Or maybe a more expressive running animation? Because otherwise, all the characters are fully animated.
Also, yes of course the gray lifelessness was intentional because its the chaotic void that predates all life.
woah i didnt expect to find anything like this in a jam this short. i really liked the voice acting and the interpretation of Nyx's appearance!
sometimes things would break, for example i could walk through a wall at some point and the light creatures started to walk on air (or maybe they always could? idk). good luck for the part 2! i would love to see it
Woooow ! Thats really an awesoooome game !! I really like the concept about light and darkness ! Great job on this one !! :o
great game!
The game is nice. Visuals are ok. But player can get stuck in certain area where it wont allow the player to go back and that got me confused for a bit.
I added some gates to hard stop players from taking the low path without the proper upgrade.
Hey, I really like the style of the game, it took me awhile to figure out about the shadow being safe.
But after i got the sleep spell, i didnt really know what to do.
I added some more doors to return to the main area that should help out here.
