Use of the limitation
You must escape from a dragon by collecting treasures. The more treasures you collect, the slower you will move, and the closer the dragon will be.

Two bars of chocolate the last day of development, because one bug made me crazy.

I have actually never played a finite runner before, so this was a cool new experience! I really like the dragon art and the music is quite nice too. Great job!

“Finite runner” sounds great xD Thank you for your feedback!

Despite the confusion over collecting a lot of gold but only seeing 2 gold on the end screen, the game's art was very appealing. The music complemented the game perfectly, enhancing the overall experience.

The dragon's design was both awesome and menacing, adding a fantastic element to the gameplay. Its simplicity and ease of replayability make for good, fun gaming sessions. Great job on creating an engaging and enjoyable game!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback, I really appreciate it! My design philosophy is to incorporate information into the gameplay as seamlessly as possible, adding the fewest HUD elements possible. In this case, I used particles to indicate the amount of treasure you're carrying (roughly) and to show that when you stumble, you drop the treasure. But you're right, I fell short in visually explaining the game mechanics. Thanks again for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind when improving in my future projects ^^

Fun little arcade game lol. I really enjoyed it and with some upgrades and a little more variety it can be a really good mobile game :p

Really nice concept which perfectly matches the limitation! You really want to play more to get the perfect score. I really like how tensed it is to see the dragon face when you acquired lots of money. Really cool little game!

After so many failed attempts I finally managed to clear without hitting any rocks and got 31!! (Not very impressive, I know...) Fun, addicting little game that makes excellent use of the limitation. LOVE the atmosphere as the dragon creeps closer and closer and it gets harder and harder to see the rocks in front of you... For me personally (since I'm greedy and bad at the game), I think I would have preferred if rocks just made you lose a set amount of gold instead of making you go back down to zero, but I understand if that was intentional for the theming. If that's the case, a restart button would be amazing because I was just refreshing whenever I hit a rock anyway. Great work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I intentionally designed the game to emphasize the consequences of greed with high risk and minimal rewards. However, I appreciate your suggestion for a restart button to make the game more accessible for players aiming for high scores. During development, I often resorted to running into the dragon’s mouth to restart! Your input will definitely be considered for future games. Thanks again for playing!

…I don’t know why that didn’t even occur to me. That definitely works as a restart button as is!

Fun concept, and well executed. Having to gauge risk was fun in this little adventure.

Thanks for playing and rating! ^^

I liked your game, is nice to see a fellow godot user on any game jam.

Developer

Thank you! This is my first godot game, i'm still learning, but it's a very cool engine!

You get a real sense of urgency as it creeps up on you. Great job with the art style. Could be a good concept for a side-scrolling horror game where you push the monster back / out run it.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! ^^

The dragon slowwwly showing it's horrible face makes for a very tense expirice and an acurate representation of how scary dragons actually are.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! The last time I saw a Dragon in person, I was sooo scared O.O xD
