really polished
My first thought was “really, snake?” then I realised that it was a very clever idea. Congrats!
This is a surprisingly clever take on a classic.
I love how you added an element of exploration to the game. And the fact that the levels randomize after you die means it doesn't get stale and you always have a unique experience.
The art and visuals are awesome! Its so interesting. And the sound effects and nature noises add a lot of immersion to the game.
Very Cool!
Really fun! loved the screen shader - all the visuals are really nice - Great Job!
Like it a lot! Understand why this game is so highly rated!
Good job :)
well that's a really loooong snake simply wonderfull it's a completely different aproach to the theme but it's a game I wil keep playing during some time. The vibe is awesome
For me, it's simply one of the best game in this jam. Almost everything is perfect here EXCEPT few little things : like the procedural level generation and the enemy placement that are a little bit unfair and frustrating at some point.
man if you think the apes are unfair just wait until you get to the demons! hahaha thank you for playing <3
I was wondering : does "Baba is you" artisticly inspired you guys ?
definitely we love BABA and KEKE and WALL and the whole gang.
the enemies aren’t allowed to spawn or move within 4 tiles of the edges of the rooms, which prevents you from getting killed immediately by something as soon as you go onto a new screen. but you still need real quick reflexes to respond fast enough especially if you’re going fast, which i don’t have- so my technique is to turn when i get into new rooms straight away to avoid anything in the middle i might not be fast enough to avoid. i tried moving that boundary in even further but it looks kind of unnatural having all the enemies only clump up right in the middle of the screen. i think you’re right and one extra block of safezone would make it a little more forgiving without being too clumpy in the middle.
it plays like an arthouse snake, i love it
This is amazing. I really love the presentation from the visuals to the sounds, just a great aesthetic overall. Great concept too. Could see myself having played countless hours of something like this as kid running MS-DOS in the early 90s.
Enjoyable game! I think the sounds could have been a bit clearer but I think that was for the vibe. The visuals looked great and having everything dynamic makes it challenging. You need a quick sec to assess all the threats. Great work!
Love the aesthetic and the idea of making Snake an exploration game. My favorite I've played so far
thank you! the feeling is mutual. your game is also our favorite so far!
This, This is amazing… The audio, art, post-processing is all just stellar.
I really love how you remade the game and it is by far the best version of snake I have ever seen. I think my favorite part was the moving bits and having separate rooms with unlockables. It reminded me a lot of the original Zelda
10/10 all around! Exelent job!
(also how did you get the loading screen with the new unity logo? that is really cool!)
nice game.
I love the art and the music.
btw, how tf a monkey can kill a snake lol
Well made game I enjoyed playing it.
Nice visuals and cozy music! Great job!
Wow I really like the atmosphere and the animations. Here is a mind blowing version of a snake game TBH :o
The atmosphere, sounds and art overall are all great. The implementation of the bird theme is kind of vague but not too bad, what i know the theme isn't obligatory anyway. Only other negative thing is that sometimes rooms lead to another, where there's an obstacle immediately in front of the player and you die. Great take on snake!
Wow. What a beautiful little game. I love the low frame rate pixel animation of the entities and environment, and the 8 bit nature noises and beautiful music. I especially love the damage screen. Very captivating.
Really good take on an old idea. The movement between areas, enemies and bonus pickups were all great. Nice on, I had fun with this.
I loved the way you showed the life lost most but several really cool things here, good fun!
<3 <3 thanks!
