While playing I missed some kind of challenge. Initially I thought I have to avoid the other characters, however when walking over them I just got a message. So I could just freely walk around and collect the cake. In general I think it's a good starting point for a fun little game.

cool game, the idea of a medieval rhythm combat game just cracks me up. I feel like this idea has a lot of potential and could be really fun if developed further.

Nice and crisp little game that stays true to the asset pack. I also love cheesecake so this game is a winner in my book.

Cool game! It feels almost like a music game with all the different sounds.

Pros

-I like how the pick-up frequency gets higher with more cheese

-Map cover is really cool

-I'm assuming you put in the asset pack's pixel text, that's pretty nice

-I liked the livelihood of all the people moving around the map

Cons

-Not a con, more like a requested feature. I think it would be cool to have the people around the map give you new powers. Like bumping into a snake turns you into a snake that lets you go through walls, or a fish could let you only go through water but not land.

Great job!

This gets going right away!

Cool to explore the little world you've build and I think the scaling sound as you collect bits of cake was a really nice touch.

I also liked setting trees on fire and found myself wishing that had an effect of some sort.

Cool jam.

Aww this was really cute, made me think of a bitsy game. The pitch raising as you collected the cheese was a nice touch but I might put a limit on it, it got unpleasently high pitched over the course of my playthrough. I can see this being expanded nicely into a little roguelike or something where the characters you meet have some sort of interaction like you fightr some or talk to some in more depth or trade with some.

Thanks :) Sorry for making the pitch unlimited. I think the frequency caps out at about 6500Hz for the final piece of cheesecake. Which is just over the highest note a piano can play (G8 at 6272Hz) :o

Yes if I had known how to I would have given each of the npcs you meet a quest to find a particular item in return for cheesecake. I don't have much experience with making proper gameplay elements so I stuck to what I know best such as procedural map making :)

A nice little adventure!

A cute concept, simple but attractive! I also thought that the other characters were enemies at first. Good entry!

The pickup-sound is a great idea. I was very confused by the "enemies" until I figured out that they're not enemies at all and then I wanted to touch them all. Very nice :D

Very engaging to play :-D

It's an interesting little game, I enjoyed seeing the different assets and npc's. I kept playing to see how high the tone would go haha my score was around 2000. We'd appreciate if you could check out our puzzle game as well!
