I got to the end, but the pickaxe section certainly was a bit finicky. In general, I'd take a look at how you're managing object storage and picking up (sometimes they'd... ignore my key presses, or something?), but the game was really nice. The atmosphere built slowly and only really ramped up when I was least anticipating something to really spook me.
Of course, I couldn't help but turn around in real life. Nice sounds, fittingly small puzzles; good work all around.
I also got stuck at the pickax thing (I didn't even realize it was a pickax, I though I was trying to assemble a bow x) ). After trying many things, the string got stuck in furniture and the two other item got stuck together :(
It's too bad because the ambient track and the overall look of the game had started to really make me feel the spooky vibe. The step sound fx could have been better too, and add to this spooky mix.
Interesting game. I would move the character a bit faster. Also, as others I got stuck at the shovel part, I had 3 items and didn't know what to do with them :(
Nice little horror game! You definitely had the spooky atmosphere . I've got to admit, the ending didn't make much sense :) I kept waiting for something more to.. happen.
After reading some reviews, I was able to figure out the pick axe puzzle! Like others have said, it's a good idea to give players an idea of how to solve a puzzle. I don't necessarily want to spoil it for others, but introducing a key mechanic earlier is a good idea.
Fun game - I really enjoyed the ambient background noise. I really liked the atmosphere you were going for. Unfortunately, I got stuck at the graveyard part. One suggestion for these type of games is to always have the possible actions somewhere on the screen. (e.g. Space to continue, E to interact) This way, I'm not relying on spamming my buttons to check if I can do something.
Not gonna lie i got stuck at the grave part after using the shovel.
Maybe i'm just bad at puzzle games though ahah.
Umm cool sound choice and color. Helps alot making an atmosphere.
Keep it up!
Aesthetics were really great. Reminds me to those oldest DOS games.
I was very engaged but got stuck also with the pickaxe. I tried for a while but finally call it a review after trying many combinations.
It would have helped to have some labels on what you have in your hands.
Good game!
I like the atmosphere and concept, didn't manage to make it to any spooky parts before getting stuck though
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the puzzles. The collision for the items you pick up has some issues thought. I really wanted to finish this, but I'm stuck at what appears to be a pick axe, a shaft/handle, and some string. Great work though!
The idea seems promising, but you may need something to make the interactible objects stand out more (Like the buttons on the PE teacher scene, for example). I wasn’t able to figure out what was needed to be done after shoveling the grave, though. After doing that, I didn’t know what those two items were, or where do I needed to use them, and if I had to bring them with me, it was a little annoying to move multiple items at the same time.
But overall, the game’s environment does make you feel unconfortable, and I like the minimal use of sound FX to add to that experience. Good job!
Looks like a fun game, but I could not figure the PE teacher puzzle. I picked up the head, but then I set it down and couldn't pick it up again?
I couldnt pick up the key :( But it looks like a really promising idea. I encourage you to polish it and make something out of it. It looks really nice good job !
I also could not get the pick axe to form, but was really fun up until that part.
Awesome puzzles! Couldn't get the pickaxe to form, but really cool overall
I really liked this game, and I thought the combination/maths mechanic was really cool-- but a little under used. It didn't come up often enough for it feel like an organic solution to problems in the game, but otherwise was super interesting fun to play.
Is this supposed to be a scary game? I thought it was cute haha. Seems more like a puzzle/escape game than a horror game. Some issues: the text is a bit difficult to read because it's clustered together too much and also at some points (like when you find the P.E. teacher and go to the sink), parts of the text are not readable because of the white on white. Also, not sure if this is intentional or not, but in the room where you can get rubber gloves, there's a black box in the upper right corner of the room that you can walk behind.
