This game is really nice. Everything is perfect. (The shopkeeper says "helpo you" btw"
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Turns out there were a couple of typos in the text that I missed. I need to really have more people play my games before I submit them lol. Thanks!
The game had this kind of calm, relaxing atmosphere to it. The audio was a bit of a problem but I didn't pay much attention to it. Maybe some visual improvements could really take this game places, although the assets were clean looking. I had to force myself to stop playing and do other things. Really addictive game!
Thank you for the feedback and for playing! I am glad you enjoyed!
Very nice game, I enjoyed it a lot. There is room for some graphical improvements and polish to bring the game even higher, but in general it is a nice little game as it is.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Oh there is a lot of room for graphical improvement lol. I'm no artist but I just didn't want to asset flip for this jam 😁
Very fun game/basis for a different game. What I mean by that is that, for the first couple floors, I had no sound/music, because the master volume was turned down, and assumed that you would keep the damage you took in one floor to the next, which gave me kind of pixel dungeon/rogue-like vibes. With the music the music, the healing and the not very frequent, basic upgrades, it has more idle game vibes. A unwinding, chill experience where you still have the feel of progression, which is also very fun, just different.
Improvement-wise I think you could put all actions on left click rather than having braking separate. Other than that, very cool.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! The audio was an issue, there was a bug with the sound not setting correctly at the start that I didn't get to fix. I also agree that it should have all been on left click. Also I like the idea of maybe not healing with each floor to add more need for potions and such...thanks!!
Nice and chilled game, felt good to play (I like the camera shake!) and well balanced. I would suggest tweaking the starting volumes as the music was too loud by default and the SFX too quiet, but I appreciated the controls that allowed me to change that. I also liked the system console log as a way to see what was going on in the fight sequence :)
I would have liked to have access to more upgrades in the shop - I seemed to very quickly only have access to buy potions and nothing else. A stronger attack, better armour, higher capacity for potions would have all been nice additions to purchase.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! The sounds were an issue. There was a bug with the audio that I didn't get to fix. The upgrades are available after every 5 successful mines, which in hindsight was too slow. I usually make games that are overly difficult and I went too far in the other direction on this one :)
Very clean and polished look and feel. It's relaxed and easy to pick up. Random generation makes it replayable.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
Very solid game ! Very easy to beat. Only issue i had was the length of it. The game took me much more time than i tought and above novice i noticed i started to speedrun it. Overall everything is good and clean, and also addictive cause i got bored and still wanted to play till the end. Great work
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I do agree it was a little too long. I didn't have time to rebalance and reduce the caves between levels so I had to just roll with it lol. Glad you enjoyed it though!
I loved your game ! Especially the chill atmosphere and the gameplay. It was so relaxing ;)
The only things i would say is that maybe it's a bit too long for the difficulty to increase. I had then to speedrun a lot of levels when i was maxed out to increase the difficulty ...
Also, i found a game breaking bug : when you die from an enemy, you can actually resurrect with a potion and move while the death window is active. So if you discovered the treasure, you cannot lose unless you fall into a trap.
I used this technique a lot to defeat monsters when i discovered the treasure but no potions left.
Overall it's a good work !
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I apologize that you found a bug. I will notate it on my bug list. Thanks for pointing it out.
I like the game especially the background music when I explore the blocks. I think increasing the default music volume will be better since current volume is a little low.
Thank you for the feedback and for playing! I opted to start the music/sfx lower because some of them tended to be a bit aggressive lol. I figured I would let the player decide how bad to hurt their ears :)
Fun game play and excellent tutorial! While exploring the map, the 2 button controls for 'break & move' have a balanced feel to them.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed!
Very interesting and unique concept! I liked how the different elements (tilebased movement, combat…) were messages together.
I believe there's a bug collecting gold... every time I died I ended up with 0 gold again. Or is that intentional?
I will make note of the gold bug. It should only reset if you die on the first level. Sorry you experienced that! Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
Great game! I liked the more relaxing feel and the subtle sound effects, it made the whole experience very zen. My one bit of advice would be to maybe have a couple smaller levels to introduce the mechanics of the game slowly, rather than a somewhat overwhelming amount of information at the beginning. That being said, I picked up on the mechanics pretty quick.
Nice job!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Very awesome feel to this game, super polished!
After skipping through the tutorial, I learned the hard way what the hazards are xD.
My only feedback here is perhaps limit the amount of movement you have or maybe moving costs HP. Limiting me or making the choice of moving back to pick up potions at the cost of movement or hp might make it more challenging.
Overall, great submission and definitely the art is top notch!
Thank you for the feedback and for playing the game! I tend to make games that are WAY too difficult for game jams so I dialed it back on this one and went more for a very casual experience. Maybe a bit too far. I am glad you enjoyed it though!
Really cool game !
The gameplay is very simple but efficient.
I think using only the left click would have been enought as there isn't any case where you could use both to do different actions.
The price could also be higher as you gather gold quite fast.
But apart from that it's a pretty solid & complete jam entry.
Good job :)
Thank you for playing and for the suggestions! I do agree one button would have been better. I spent WAY too much time on level gen. I actually dialed the gold up and the prices back as I tend to make very difficult games so I wanted to kinda make this one a little easier. Guess I went too far in that direction lol.
I really like this game, it was really fun and enjoyable!!
The art was nice, and the gameplay was slowpaced and fun, and I really liked the funny loading screen text :D
Maybe you could add a one use jump pad that you can collect in-game or buy (like the small potions) or something like that, to jump over obstacles.
Also the sound didn't work for me... I checked the setting and they were all on max so I think it's a bug.
Great game, good luck in the jam!
Thank you for playing and the feedback! I like the idea of a single use item, maybe something like a bomb to insta kill an enemy or destroy a trap. I will definitely write that down! Best of luck to you as well!
I am waiting to see if this game shows my age, with the "Reticulating Splines" text and see how many people remember old school Sim City :)
After a quick google search I understand the reference. Nice touch!
Really GOOD game!! Even if its a bit off the theme I would give it a five star because of the concept and calming gameplay !
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I just went by this definition of chase (an act of pursuing someone or something.) lol. You are chasing treasure. Its a bit loose, but I struggled a bit with this theme and the mouse only., so I am really glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this one! It's very calming. The graphics and music are simple but charming. There are a few UI issues in the shop, and the controls feel a little clunky at times when moving to other tiles, but overall it's enjoyable, I hope it gets a post-jam release.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback.
If you don't mind letting me know what UI issues you were having that would be helpful so I can make sure they get corrected if I do ever release it.
It had some overlapping, but it looks like the overlapping only happens in fullscreen.
Ah yes. This I was aware of. I caught it late last night in play testing. I tested it this morning letting the full screen be controlled by unity and not itch and it seemed to work, but I guess not completely. Thank you for the screenshot. I will have to dig into it as I have no idea why it is happening. In Engine, it never happened in about 200 openings of the shop, and only once in itch testing. So weird. Yay game dev!
Yup, that sounds about right!
