SO CUTE. Loved how you highlighted the controls grid during the intro, that was a real nice touch!
Short and fun. The ending animation was fantastic.
This was really cool! The art is really nice, the intro explained everything very well even with the limited screen space, and finding the wood was a little tense because of the time limit.
The only thing is that maybe the game is too quiet, which is understandable since its for the nokia, but maybe a nice little song that fits the "lost in the woods" vibe could have filled the atmosphere, since the only sound that plays is getting the wood, and that does not happend often.
Also the controls could actually be playable in a real Nokia, so congrats!
This is awesome! The sprite work is extremely well done - everything reads so well, which is a real challenge with the restrictions. The Z-C mechanic was great too, good way to simulate making a fire with sticks. Really great stuff! ^-^
short and cute, good work!
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Fantastic work! The presentation is some of the best I've seen in this jam. The game also fits with the theme of Freeze really well
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback :)
A really cute game! I loved the C-Z-C-Z-C-Z mashing, I really pressed the buttons like I was about to make fire :D Found the trail on the second try, I liked the random objects along the way, I was looking at the old tree thinking how many firewood could it be if only Benny had an axe.
Thank you for the feedback! That would be a great feature to add to the game :)
Very charming and cute. Also surprisingly fun idea to have this type of survival, the concept is also very expandable which is always good if you wanna develop further post-jam!
Thanks for the feedback! Definitely considering picking it up again and expanding it :) Perhaps we'll expand the screen size and palette too lol.
Fun little game with a lot of character! Definitely a lot of potential to develop further too. Good work
Thanks for the feedback! Definitely getting some great ideas from the community to develop it further :)
Nice little game. It's always great to see unique gameplay mechanics. Would like to have a longer version though where you can have some powerups like clothing and can stay unfrozen for longer to explore the map :)
Thanks for the feedback! That's a great idea! :)
Nice game, kind of hope it was zoom out a bit as it is kind of hard to navigate around.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, perhaps we could have made the sprites a bit smaller :)
Cool (get it?) game :D
The intro was very cute.
It took me two tries to win, the big wood icon on the left felt very intruding on the viewing area.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, it was hard to figure out how to convey the number of wood pieces with the size constraints, but we tried our best :)
Thoroughly enjoyed my little playthrough! Loved how Benny addresses the player directly, and the mashing of Z and C as a mechanic was a VERY welcome surprise -- I can vividly imagine the sound of the actual nokia keypad as im mashing it lol. Great job! Cute little end screen too, love little touches like that :]
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed your playthrough, we had a great time making it. Thanks for helping Benny make it to the trail! :D
Very creative game. I would like to see his evolution. I saw a lot of potential in it, here are some points that I think could help:
1-I think it could simplify the controls if, when passing over wood or collectable items, the character collected them automatically
2-I think that after collecting enough wood the player could make a fire which the player could use as a safe point to explore the map further like this game https://ferrohl.itch.io/shivers
Thanks for the feedback! I use e to interact because of personal preference, so that the game isn't constantly checking for wood/player collisions, I don't like having too many collision checks going on (since there is one for the trailhead/player already). Love the idea of a save point fire, however! Great idea :)
I had a blast!
Beat it on the second try as I used the "Hug the walls" technique XD. The game just looked really good overall, so much so I wished there was a mode where you could freely explore without worrying about being frozen to death.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you had a good time playing it, we had a fun time putting it together :)
