Very folkloric, and the perspective reveal at the end brings some sympathy to havoc, which I dig

Solid story, almost think you need a second page to flesh out the tale end more!

Solid story all the way through and the ending was quite a twist on what I expected. Good stuff.

This was a fun read, although if I could make a suggestion - you use passive voice to describe the first attack on the farmstead, and it robs the scene of some of the power and immediacy it might otherwise have. The twist at the end was delicious and made me want to hear the rest of the narrator's story.

I love the first chapter of this work, utterly love it. Gives me old school cryptid vibes!
