Awesome story, I love the cliffhanger, the interaction, the magic, the names
Thank you very much for the kind words - I'm glad you enjoyed it!
awesome take on necromancy!
Thanks - I try to keep my magic systems interesting
it just made a lot of sense for an Elf to have an elegant more sophisticated approach to that type of magic...atypical to the usual weirdo holed up in a cave in a black robe playing with dead bodies lol
Not since Nix have I seen such a clever take on necromancy. Well done!
Thank you - that honestly means a lot to me coming from the writer of 'Victory for Hydra'!
Great respectful mood and character-driven story, and you still got a fight in there! The sympathetic necromancy is very cool.
Thank you very much; I'm glad you liked it.
I enjoyed how the necromancy functioned in this. Good work!
Thanks very much! I like magic and magic systems in fantasy stories and I try to make my magic unique. I'm glad you liked it!
Very original use of the theme, I quite enjoyed this and the depth of the necromancers character was well beyond the few words allowed. This could easily be expanded to novella length.
Thank you very much for the kind words. I may well expand on the story; if/when I do, it will be available here.
like the portrail of the necromancer in this one, someone focus on the balance between life and death, but still seen by the religious ones as just another one of thoses that disrupt the rightfull rest for their own gain
Thank you - I've always thought that necromancy need not be always evil.
Excellent stuff. I'm genuinely blown away.
You did a great twist on the theme and some very interesting character building... though I do wish we'd gotten a bit more perspective on what turned Quinel/Josef against his former mentor but I really loved their exchange ad it's just left me wanting more.
Edit: Accidentally double posted, sorry for that!
Thank you for the complement - I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
I wanted go more into the background of the two characters as well, but there's only so much room in 1000 words!
Looking forward to more of them in the next lore jam, then!
I'm glad!
Thematically this work is really stunning with the whole One Page concept, the elf gives me Morrigan vibes hardcore.
Thank you for the kind words!
