Description
This soundtrack was composed for an imaginary game - Survivors from Earth. You are leading a group of people trying to survive in the harsh and unforgiving conditions on an alien planet.

Each track depicts the journey of those people and aims at creating a fitting space ambient to what would happen on a screen.

The OST was composed and recorded using Reaper, Roland Zenology and TB-303 VSTs, Roland JU-06A and my Jackson guitar with a tone done in BIAS FX 2.

--

After a sudden catastrophe consumed the whole planet Earth, only one vessel managed to escape it into space. Many years have passed on the board of Moses III. Each day, the crew launched a dozen satellites that scanned the vast emptiness of myriad galaxies in search of a habitable planet.

One day the scientists found what the people could call a new home ("A New Home on the Horizon"). But living there was nothing they once remembered from Earth. It would not be an easy task to survive on the “Promised Land” - through a cycle of three seasons.

When nature wakes from its slumber, all flora explodes with life and spews psychedelic gases into the air ("Forests blooming with Acid"). Months later, heat rises to unbelievable temperatures igniting gas clouds and turning everything into burning ash ("Our Lands covered with Burning Ash")... Until the temperature goes drastically low, freezing every mote of matter into crystallized ice and preparing all life to be reborn once again ("Reflections on the Crystal Ice").

Theme:

Story of Seasons

How does it fit the theme?
I used the "Story of Seasons" theme to imagine an alien world with its own cycle of seasons and a story of people that would try to find their place in it.

Listening to your music, I can totally imagine the scenery you're describing. Interesting to see how you combined the theme of the season with sci-fi profile!

Nice one, you really managed to make me feel like I'm in space and in an alien world!

really atmospheric! absolutely adore reflections on the crystal ice, by far my favorite out of the 4

also i don't know how to word this but is the 2nd track called forests blooming with ACID because of the BASS? which sounds like an ACID BASS?

Developer

Yeah, that's the direct influence on the title :) I imaged a season with overgrown forests and thick and psychedelic air. I immediately thought of TB-303 for the acid bass and decided that I'll include that in the title :)

i really feel a very slight John Carpenter vibe. Which i always like to hear. It might not been your inspiration, but reminded me of that style, mainly because the synth bass, and the rythms (kind of a littlebit of everything) Good job!

Oh, that's really flattering, thanks! I wasn't thinking about Carpenter while composing this, but I see your point and I love his simplicity in how he approaches his musical themes. I'll be listening to him much more now :D

Forests blooming with acid? Sign me up! Ok on second thought sounds like it could be a bad trip haha. That synth is very unsettling and yet pleasing to my ears :)

I mean... the point was to have a bad trip :D

You definitely succeeded :D

Love how you approached the theme! My favourite is track 4, it's perfect for the situation. Very contemplative.

Great sound choices and style! You did a good job of getting that "space vibe".

Excellent communication of the hostility and strangeness of other planets.  Forests Blooming with acid really does sound like a track that would be playing amidst a toxic environment.

Great space soundtrack, love the arpeggiated synths, they sound lovely!

The sounds you used and put together make for a great scifi and space-ish atmosphere, you did a great job on creating a good and fitting atmosphere.

I really liked the proposed atmosphere. The first track brings an epic good feeling that something unexpected is to come. My favorite of the 4 tracks. I missed the guitar on the other tracks! Perhaps some percussive element, very minimalist and with strange textures was interesting too!
