Description
My imaginary game is influenced by Animal Crossing, Tamagotchi, and various arcade puzzle games. The full soundtrack would consist mainly of songs that play at different times of the day; These songs change every hour. In my submission, I've attached the title screen track and the track for 6PM.

I composed the music in FL Studio 20. I used very accurate digital replications of a few synths and drum machines from the mid to late 80's, as well as game console and arcade cabinet impulse responses (Thanks to Plogue Art & Technologie.) Each song is designed to loop indefinitely. Low fidelity, high character.

Message from the artist:
Thank you for listening.

Theme:

Wish upon a star
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
In my imaginary game, you are a middle aged man going through divorce. The game chronicles your move into a new empty apartment, and your budding relationships with the local community. Every night you look at the stars and wish for a better life. This game takes a light-hearted comedic look at the bitter slog of life. Furnish your apartment, dress your Ahjussi, and find something to live for!

I thought I was listening to an actual Animal Crossing soundtrack! Well done!

Title: I hear strong Animal Crossing influences in the minimalistic, yet complete composition. The ending chord of the phrase has a somber tone to it that help convey the sadness the main character feels, but throughout there are many uplifting sections that seem to represent hope. Your instrumentation is top-notch and I think the quality of your production is very true to the style you are going for.

6pm: I really like the idea of songs that change with the time of day. Definitely a highlight of Animal Crossing music for sure. This track has a nice chill vibe to it like the main character is coming home at the end of a long day and wants to just relax.

What a cool vamp both times! I could also see these in a casual explorer game. Thanks for sharing!

The game idea is very original, pretty and chilly tracks to get your Ahjussi a brand new life! I could see myself spending time in the game trying new clothes, texting people and that kind of stuff ^^ Your soundtrack make this feeling good!

I really loved the sounds in the Title track! Good job and thank you for sharing :)

The analog synths emulation reminds me of what some of the FM synthesis modules in arcades and game consoles probably wanted to sound like. This was a nice pair.

Love how relaxing these tracks were, and your story is a nice take on that transitory period of life. Great work!

Being a middle aged man and watching many peers enter the post divorce, get stuff back together phase of life -- I love the idea of making that an Animal Crossing super caj game.

The music fits well with the concept - very pretty and chill.

These are so pretty! Love this take on the theme. That simple but effective Mixolydian progression in the first track is perfect for the mood in your story. These synths are so satisfying and calm. Great work!

This is hands-down the most creative OST I've listened to thus far, and I think you absolutely nailed the aesthetic you were going for. Hope Ahjussi gets a break soon, he deserves one.

First of all, 'middle-aged man getting a divorce' is a really unique idea for a game, and I think it would have some charm to it! 6PM immediately gave me animal crossing vibes. This is a light, easy track that would fit right into a home renovation game.

Title is also really enjoyable! The two tracks certainly sound similar, though the end of Title had some brief and interesting drums-- would have enjoyed hearing more of those!

Nice job on the whole-- keep writing!

I can really feel the nice combinaison of animal crossing vibe and low fi sound. with the synth drum it definitely adds more of urban aspect. I love also how you played with panning, it really adds an interest especially with headphones. The music really suits well with the games/genre you mentioned, good job!
