Description
The genre I chose for my soundtracks is electronic dance music (EDM) with elements of trip-hop and post-rock.

The game I imagine for the soundtrack is an fast-paced run-n-gun style shooter with arcade elements, hence, I made the soundtrack have a high bpm to reflect the pace of the gameplay.

The soundtracks were made with Audacity using a mixture of sourced samples and sound effects (from my old music and the public domain).

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
For the theme of this Jam, "Inside My World," I've chosen to interpret this theme two ways.

Within the context of my game, the prompt represents two core aspects: the first being the foreign, cosmic entity that has invaded Earth, hence a foreign entity has forced itself "Inside My World," the world in this case being Earth, and second the alien entity invades the bodies of living organisms, hence in the phrase "Inside My World," the world would be someone's inner world, or their body.

I wanted to convey this story through the cover art of the tracks and through their chosen names. (Refer to the linked playlist on my YouTube)

These are absolutely laden with atmosphere. Great job on the production off the bat - one of the few entries I've heard that feels genuinely well-rounded and fully produced.

Loving the drum and bass vibes at the beginning of The Fall of the Scion of Rot. Some great synth textures to keep this driving forward, dipping into the sound-design territory. The hints of guitar work in this - be it the earlier palm-mutes or the distant riffing toward the end - does a fantastic job of setting up for the next track. The beat growing more complex and urgent as the track comes to a close only helps bolster this all the more.

The Expurgation Campaign delivers - same core sound as the previous track but more developed and, for lack of a better term, ballsy. Guitars being more prominent in this with some gnarly bass growls going really sets up that Mick Gordon trademark sound. Really like your use of various ambiences and textural backgrounds to fill in the spaces between.

Both of these are arranged really well and the choice of synth voicings is not only complementary but does a really good job setting the stage. Can't praise the production enough - everything sounds fantastic and sits comfortably where it should. Kudos, this was super solid.

The guitars you used here were FILTHY, and this whole thing is really unique and impressive. Nice job!

I will echo the other sentiments about the mastering and craving more low end, but overall, this slays.

Well done!

Bro chill!!! xD

That was super good, i'd definitely see this on a run-n-gun shooter. The only thing I'm sad is that your beat is not powerful enough, I wish there was more oomf there, but otherwise super good job!

Day 4 of Rating Submissions with Few Ratings To Hopefully Get Some In Return

The music is very cool, driving and with lots of forward motion. I can see this as the soundtrack to a 90s run and gun game, Turrican or similar. I am a bit confused at the connection between title and sound, though, as those textures are about as inorganic as they can be and don´t sound very "Foresty". Is the forest a type of mechanical entity, like you described in the description?

another submission that I would listen to on its own, btw. I am a breakbeat enjoyer.

Really great change of  pace from a lot of the entries! I loved how the artwork changed to reflect the change in the theme!

Actual bangers, had me boppin from start to finish. I love the idea and view you had for these compositions, mixing techno and metal. The guitar riffs are NASTY!! (in a good way). Although, being completely honest, the mastering (and production in general) really need some work: some instruments feel really disconnected from others, the lower-end is basically non existant, the drums don't really have the impact, and the transitions between segments feels too stiff sometimes.

But even with that, it's still such a vibe, the composition is well done, and in general, they are really creative. Well done!

Heh... ear candy)

As someone who loves FPS and this kind of music style a lot.... very much admired!

The soundtrack is perfect for an old arcade shooter) Feels very strong atmosphere like Doom, Quake or Unreal Tournament!

The only two minuses I can point out: mastering and.... in some moments one part of the track abruptly switches to another part. Otherwise... All groovy!

Really exciting couple of tracks! You captured the hardcore metal sound perfectly. This is what the Sonic and Shadow levels should have sounded like in SA2B, the bpm here is really doing it for me! The composition side is great honestly so I have to get a bit nit-picky on the production side of things. I’m noticing the volume levels fluctuate a bit, just a bit more work on the mastering side of things would fix that. Overall really enjoyable listen with these, awesome job!
