Description
DOVE/SPLICE is a hypothetical beat-em-up game for the Sega Genesis. The album was composed for the YM2612 chip using Furnace and can play on Sega Genesis hardware.

I wanted to capture the sci-fi noir vibe of the setting I envisioned and I think I succeeded. The soundtrack covers the intro of the game, several stage themes, and the final boss battle.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
The plot of the game involves the main character travelling into his own mind to rid his memories of a virus implanted by his enemies. He must defeat monsters representing the virus in order to unlock key details about his past. Every aspect of the game is shaped by his own internal world.

Came out amazing, you really made the most of the limited tools you used! The whole thing reminds me of ROM: Neurodiver's Soundtrack.

Incredible work!  I'm a huge fan of authentic sounding chiptunes, so this is one of my favorite entries so far!  My favorite track was Neural Reclamation but they were all amazing!

This is fantastic, it could easily be the soundtrack to a real Genesis game! Every single aspect is so authentic - the composition style, the song structure, the instrument design...

I also love the little recurring arpeggio leitmotif, it really helps to connect the tracks together.

Excellent work overall!

I love a good SEGA Genesis soundtrack and this is one of the best so far. I'm a HUGE sucker for the classic genesis bass and the soundtrack has all the bass in need for a treat.

the concept for your imaginary game being a sci-fi noir is so cool it makes me imagine how would a game will go, it's such a cool concept I would like to see that expanded upon. Amazing work, would recommend!!!

Ridiculous restrictions & ridiculous result... you are insane! I'm subscribing to you, and you are now on my top list of Day 4 exceptional submissions! You should be proud! (I'm joking, but I'll definitely try to share your work multiple times with everyone on discord to get as many eyes as possible on you!

I love when people limit themselves to working with particular soundchips, and as someone who hasnt listened to much for the sega genesis I actually went back and listened a second time to get a better idea of how you built up everything over this, because your ideas were really cool! I enjoyed this a lot, and am super glad I got to sit back and enjoy something different to what i'd normally listen to,

What amazes me is the technical part... And the concept is good! As a fan of some old Sega Genesis games, I'm impressed...

Personally, I think a truly atmospheric chiptune is best with old sounds, saplams and programs

Cool, man!

P.S. My favorite is NEURAL/RECLAMATION. It's epic)

P.S.S Can be played on Sega Genesis hardware!!!? Wow... I'm even more impressed with the technical part

Very cool and very well made! It is also a really interesting concept you came up with.

really well done. If you told me this was already a sega soundtrack i'd believe it

i am AMAZED that this doesn't have more attention.  these are some seriously well-made chiptunes.  they set the scene really well and are super fun to listen to, you used the soundchip to its maximum.  i'll most certainly pay attention to whatever you do next - impeccable work.

Nice work! Maybe it should have fit the theme better, but it is a great work!
