Description
Two songs, mainly electronic music, combined with acoustic instruments.
Software used: FL Studio 2024, using both stock and external plugins.

I spent the first days at the piano coming up with a melody and multiple chord progressions that would work and give the melody multiple feelings. I took this melody as a melody of the "Main hero" we see in the picture theme. It was also inspired by their surroundings - a water theme.

As there are many objects of interest around our main hero, the music has many instruments that complement the worlds variety. As we progress through the game, the instrumentation changes to reflect the surroundings.

In the faster song, I imagine either a final boss, or an epilogue scene of reflecting on the characters journey. It gives the feeling that the journey was not in any way easy, but completing it has been rewarding and given us a new appreciation for everything. As for the slower song, I imagine it earlier in the game, maybe as an introduction to the character, or coming to a place, where this character feels safe and at home.

Message from the artist
Thank you for organising this jam, I had a lot of fun!

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The image provided evokes a sense of underwater world. I tried to reflect this inside my melody, giving it a "bubbly" feel. I also took a little inspiration from the text theme, thinking of a character inside their own world, with a strong personal theme, being sometimes accompanied by stronger melodies from the world.

A Final Reflection - AHHH IS THIS AN ELECTRO BEACH?!

Welcome Home - Phew... now I can take a break from the electric beach... thank you!

A Final Reflection has a lot of interesting things going on. There's quite a few different melody lines weaving around each other off the bat. It is very busy but I didn't find that it clashed at all which is good. Really enjoyed the change of pace and stripped back accompaniment around the 2/3 mark - really nice piano playing and a good opportunity to breathe a little before getting back into it for one more send-off. Kudos on the gradual layer reintroduction here also.

Meanwhile, Welcome Home is a great example of a motif done well and it is played beautifully. Nice articulation, soft left-hand melodies and some really nice orchestral work building in the background and bolstering the piano. Loving the subtleties of this one - as the track progresses there are more and more bits of ear candy that float to the top.

Solid submission, both really enjoyable tracks that are produced and arranged really well.

I really enjoyed the piano in “Welcome Home”. It for sure gives the feeling of returning to a familiar place. Congrats on the great submission!

Nice dynamics through the tracks!

I liked how much movement it felt like there was in A final Reflection. Never felt like it stayed in one place too long!

Intriguing tracks! Interesting choice of instruments and rhythms. Between the two, my personal favorite is "Welcome Home" because of its more mellow tone.

I love the 2 tracks being almost the same but with different tones, like the first track being the upbeat and happy tone while track 2 being more mellow and calm representing ones journey and destination. the synths being present in these 2 songs is quite a nice touch.

Day 2 of Rating Submissions with Few Ratings to Hopefully Get some In Return

Like others mentioned, tying the two tracks together with the same lead is a nice touch. The different sonic environments do feel like part of the same world that way. I also feel you managed to choose synth sounds that go well with the orchestral elements, which can always be a challenge since synths can have very broad overtone spectrums. It would be interesting how you could keep spinning this theme further with more tracks and what other environemnts you could portray with them.

Nice work! Favourite is "Welcome home" for it`s nostalgic feeling with those synth and overall softness.

I see Kepler! I really liked that one and want to use it someday - particularly its ARP presets.

Immediately keeping the main lede between two very different tracks super appreciated. Given the time constraints, I think it's probably the best way to quickly convey what you want to do. From a crunchy synth to a piano very nice touch.

I liked it - I wish there was time for more tracks in order to convey the game that you had in mind.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I love both the new synths, Kepler and Kelper Exo. Sadly haven't had much time with them yet. I would have liked to tweek the presets to be a little less harsh on the attack, but couldn't figure it out. But they are definitely very powerful synths and I'm excited to play with them more!

A Final Reflection sounds so good; it has a lot of rhythm and is energetic. Puts you in the mood for a final boss, definitely. Welcome Home feels like a nice, calm wrap up of the adventure. We only got the ending of the journey, yet it does feel like we've known the whole thing. Nicely done!
