Description
The game I had in mind is based around a generalized version of "The Creative Process". In terms of gameplay I imagined a really hard action RPG (similar to Elden Ring) but non linear and done in pixel art. I imagined it being non linear because the creative process can change all the time and also be different from person to person. I initially wanted to write 5 tracks to cover the process as I have come to know it over the past few years, but I was unable to (this jam landed right in the middle of my vacation, so limited time and resources were used to make these pieces). The software I used to create these tracks was FL 20 and Serum. Something about the tracks that I would like to highlight is that I created every sound used within them from scratch (which I am really proud of).

'The Bliss of Flow.' would be an area theme and 'Grounded in Thought.' would be the last piece of music you hear in the game.

Message from the artist
Although I wasn't able to produce the quality and quantity of music I wanted to for this jam, I am very thankful for it. I haven't put out any music in a few years and I really needed a project like this to get the ball rolling.

A huge driving force to me pushing to submit for this jam was the judging panel. Disastepeace is my favourite composer of all time (and has been for a long time) and there are a few other composers on the panel I really enjoy as well (like Joel!).

I really like the overall concept for this soundtrack that I created, and I can see myself finishing and releasing it in full in the near future :)

To those that put this jam together, thanks! I enjoyed this (even if at times it stressed me out like crazy). I will be keeping an eye out for the next one :)

Good sound design in The Bliss of Flow, cool modal piece very different. Grounded in Thought I think I already told you but very Minecraft, super chill we get lost instantly (in a good way) super pleasant to hear, sounds fantastic. Good job.

Thanks a ton! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Very nice soundscapes! Great tracks and pleasant sounding mix. Maybe little sharp lead synth in first track.

Developer(+1)

Thanks dude! I’m totally gonna address that lead when I get home from vacation :) Appreciate the feedback!

Really cool sound! I'm really curious what more music from this game would have sounded like! The Bliss of Flow is such a cool name and the sound design is great! Grounded in Thought is so relaxing and would for sure be amazing as an ending song.

Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!

I intend to finish up the rest of the “soundtrack” for this game and put it out :) Appreciate the kind words!

Thank you!

Well done for your return in the composition world! I like the contrast between the two tracks, one being more high pitched and rhythmic and the other one more deep and with long notes!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)

You've got an interesting and beautiful ambient. (God, I love these synthesizers). Funny experiments with sound.

Thanks for the curious soundtrack!

Developer

I really appreciate this, thanks so much! :) if you have Serum message me on discord (m_rph, I’m also in the OST jam server) and I’ll send you the preset pack with all these sounds and more when I get back from vacation!

Loved all of the sound design, maybe composition wise it's a bit on the simpler side and could have some more variation, but I think all the cool sounds compensate for that

Developer(+1)

I can totally see that. Was on a bit of a time crunch for these tracks as I am on vacation, but I’ll definitely try to vary my compositions more going forward. I really appreciate the feedback!

I LOVED everything going on in the low end on The Bliss of Flow, but the high-pitched lead was pretty grating. Completely got into Grounded In Thought though! Really nice tracks, with some creative ideas, really good sounding bass, and excellent vibes overall :)

Developer

Appreciate the critique! I’m going to address that lead when I get back home from vacation :)

Wow, I loved those two tracks on an instinctive level. I can't put my finger on why they're good to me. I really applaud that you made the sounds by yourself in Serum. I'm a Disasterpeace enjoyer myself and could feel some influences in these tracks. Loved it!

Developer

Appreciate the kind words! Message me on discord (m_rph, I’m also in the OST jam server). I have a Serum preset pack I made a couple years back inspired by Hyper Light Drifter. I’ll send it to you when I get back from vacation :)
