Description
I used Ableton Live to compose these songs. Genre I would say electronic ambience. I started out with a melody on piano for most of these tracks except "It's Okay To Cry". That one I sang into a vocoder whatever I was feeling in the moment.

In "Heartwaves" your character is exploring a vast and deep ocean as a metaphor for processing their unresolved emotions . As they travel down they meet many "creatures" and their stories alongside a lovely spectral guide that is actually an ancestor to your character.

The first track, "Where All Beginnings End" plays when you first start exploring the underwater world and it's a place of no return to the person they were before. I wanted there to be a liminal element but with some hope. The second track, "Layer By Layer" I wanted to explore that liminality even deeper. A continuation of the change the character is going through as they learn and discover more about this ocean. The track "We Can Work This Out" is when the character comes across a challenge or a "boss". Really this "boss" is themselves but it's taking the form of a creature, a part of themselves that just needs some compassion and well a hug. The last song, "It's Okay To Cry" is that momentary relief and healing that comes along with the release of an emotion. The "wails/whales" of grief. The character shows compassion towards the once upset creature, telling them they no longer need to hold onto that pain and they are here for them.

How does it fit the theme?
From the picture I noticed the underwater scene alongside the kinda spectral figure that I interpreted
as an ancestor to the child in the picture. My imaginary game explores the "underwater depths" of the emotional world of your character. With the help of a spectral, ancestral guide.

Wow... Well, it was a creative and experimental ambient. I love this mix of melodic orchestral instruments and crazy synthesizers. Cool!

Thanks)

Just completely in awe, I think this submission really shows everything I love about good ambient music, this strong feel of being grounded but at the same time unstructured, carrying me away in the music and letting me just settle back into the world you created here. Excellent work.

It's Okay To Cry had a really cool instrument with those bells! They were really astral feeling!

Developer

Ah thank you so much!! That one I was singing through Ovox as one of my instruments so maybe that's the one you're thinking of!

Nice layering and gradual incorporation of different textures! You have a good sense of balance with highs and lows that really help complement the track as a whole. Keep it up (o゜▽゜)o☆

Hi Pearl Fire! The subtle nuances you've created in Layer By Layer is absolutely wonderful. I'm very glad that I found your OST. I've got a lot to learn from your music.

Btw, that's the perfect cover for your work.

Bravo!!

The track Where all Beginnings end is so charming when it comes to the sound design and choices you've made it's great. Definitely something that could fit well in an introduction!

Layer by Layer gives me huge Minecraft vibes it's like a mix between Dead Voxel + Ballad of the Cats + Shuniji (Basically Nether + Ocean vibes) and it's absolutely stunning!

I'm a huge fan of music of this ambience so it's so satisfying and could work fantastically when paired with basically any environment related to dreams, space, ocean, or other otherworldly concepts.

Ahh thank you so much! I haven't played Minecraft in awhile, but I can totally see the similar vibes.

The best ambient OST I've heard in this jam. I was engaged and enveloped all the way through. Sound design was heavy and had a lot of depth to it like I'm in a physical underwater space. Amazing vibe and incredibly well done.

 Thank you so much!!
