Description
The game this soundtrack is based on would follow the adventures of a little girl who finds herself catapulted in the world she's been fantasizing about.
This world is magnificent, full of the aquatic creatures she's loved since she can remember. Though as she explores the world, there's something she feels she's forgetting. She explores many kinds of oceanic biomes- coral reefs, sand and rock shores, and the deep blue abyss. When she ventures there, threats start to appear. For some reason, the deeper she goes, the more her weird feeling gets stronger. She starts to want to avoid it.
When facing a hungry, killer orca, she feels terribly scared, This feeling is the same thing she felt, back then. When her mom died. Suddenly, she remembers. She feels like giving up, but her mom always told her to be strong. Her words resonate as she manages to defeat the famelic orca. Her mom appears, but she knows she's not real. Nonetheless, she spends her last few moments in the world with her, when suddenly she wakes up in the real world.
The little girl quickly forgets it all as she goes outside to play, but for some reason, she thinks, she feels much, much lighter.
My main inspiration was the GRIS soundtrack, but also a bit of Nier's soundtrack which is constantly in my head. Overall, all the music i like influences me in some way, so it'd take me until tomorrow to name all my inspirations...

1. Miss Jellyfish
An example of a small area track. Here we're in the colorful, shallow waters, where our protagonist plays with a talking jellyfish.

2. Mom
A track that plays as the girl gets closer to the truth, to remebering. Right before she feels strong enough to fight the killer orca.

3. Orca
Track that plays during the Orca fight.

Message from the artist

How does it fit the theme?
The protagonist unknowingly and unwillingly ventures into the world her own mind created, probably to cope with her mother's premature death.

Amazing sound! I especially like the choir at orca... He sounds very inspiring!

It's a shame the whole OST lacks overall volume (I have the same problem lol) because this sounded awesome!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, everyone's been telling me about it...It is really annoying! If had managed time better, i would've probably noticed this and fixed it. But oh well, nonetheless i'm quite happy about the results!

Submitted(+1)

It's okay, mine has a lot of the same issues, but you should definitely be happy with the result, because other than that it was really nice!!

Submitted(+1)

Very good for your first jam! 1 thing is that the volume was really low on all the track.

Submitted(+1)

This was super fun, you made great use of a limited instrumentation and it was very enjoyable! I think overall orca was a bit quiet tho, i think especially in the non strings department. But great work!

Submitted(+1)

Very calm in the first 2 tracks, then a little eerie in the third one, with some inspiration from Final Fantasy maybe? I think the tracks had their own personalities, some instruments were too low and in the distance, but overall good job

Developer(+1)

Haha, my inspiration was all over the place so i wouldn't be surprised if i unconsciously took from final fintasy osts too! Thank you for your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Love the panning! You did well to utilize the space despite the minimal instruments involved! Honestly, well done! ♪(^∇^*)

Your tracks were set in their contexts and fit with the narrative you designed. A very calm and relaxing experience, with a great climax on Orca. Nice entry!

Submitted(+1)

Really like the cuteness of the first track and the climax on the second was really good I found! Great job for a first submission!

Submitted(+1)

For a first submission, this is really well done! The tracks were all spacious and really transported you through the world you've built in your story.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! This makes me really happy!

Your OST serves very well what is happening in the story.

"Miss Jellyfish": the accompaniment transports us to the bottom of the sea. Excellent choice of sounds.

"Mom": introspective, perfectly evokes this state.

"Orca": very intensed, like what the protagonist is experiencing.

Great work!!

Great overall soundtrack! I had a good time listening to all three tracks, and starting with Miss Jellyfish really gave the underwater, floating feeling pictured in the artwork. My only complaint (if it can be considered that) would be that it may be a bit quiet overall (or maybe I've just listened to too many loud submissions one after the other lol)!

Outside of that, really great work!

Thank you for listening!!!

I love the buildup from Mom -> Orca!

i think the lead in miss jellyfish could use a tad bit more work, but it has a lot of potential! love the theme you chose the ideas behind it!

Developer
