We apologise for the late review:
The Western theme from the trigger pull of the intro was just on point and had me instantly feeling like John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, but mechanised.
The detail was so in touch with the theme, and there was so much of it for such a short period of time. I was super impressed with the polish, and that was just the intro.
The gameplay had me so invested to the point I had to drag myself away to write this review fast enough just so I could get back to playing the game!
The strategy and timing just feel so good with the physics and the movement speed, also having that awesome UI to help keep track of the stop clock, which had my heart constantly racing, and I could go on. Every detail in this game just feels like a chef's kiss and is tied in with the next system so well. Once I had cleared my enemies by projecting myself at them with the limited boosts I had, I was again racing against the clock to hit the final bell, which popped out of the centre of the map for a final ding.
The map design in this was also very interesting, and I liked not being too trapped with the freedom to move about and LOS.
Overall, this was one of my favourite games so far.
Amazing animation and character design, it's a bit slow (only one new enemy every like 10 waves? brutal) but overall really really cool, great sound great everything.
So much personality from the animations, really really awesome, my favourite enemy is the rat.
Also what's the odds of getting the easter egg death scream? I absolutely lost it when it happened.
I really liked it. It's simple, but it hooks you effectively since you're constantly facing hordes of enemies. One detail I really appreciated is the idea of having health and ammo share the same resource. This adds an interesting strategic layer, as managing both becomes essential for survival.
I also liked that, as the game progresses, the new enemies forced me to rethink my strategies. This shift in difficulty and the need to adapt adds a good level of challenge.
One downside is that, at the beginning, the game can be frustrating if you run out of ammo. In these moments, the only thing you can do is wait to get killed. A possible solution could be to add a mechanic where, if you run out of ammo and there aren't enough in the scene, they randomly drop so you can collect them with the vacuum. This would allow you to keep playing without getting stuck due to a lack of ammo.
That said, it's a very well-done game, especially considering it's part of a game jam. It has a solid, dynamic, and challenging design. It's easy to get hooked. Great job!
1-hit death is a bit too harsh for the game, but it was really fun! The music and the general vibe are great!
I felt like I'm getting real strong after getting 4th gun, but then one stray bullet just ended my journey :) I wish I had more lives or something)
Also, kudos for Godot!
Neat twist on a wave survivor, I love the cowboy-robot theming. And chiming the bell to move between waves was gooood.
Really fun game! The graphics are nice, the sound design is well done, and the game progression feels natural. It was great to find out that duel-wielding was an option, and that only increased with every additional gun. The gameplay loop is very intuitive and overall this is just a really nice submission!
Good game! Ringing the bell was a nice juicey touch. Took me a second to realize i had to ram the enemies at first. I thought something was wrong with my controller. Getting lots of guns and shooting all of them at once feels awesome. But running out of bullets doesn't feel as awesome. Really nice job overall!
This was quite fun. The most engaging game I've played so far! Love the music, the setting, the different guns and items, the strategy behind managing ammo. You did a great job! :)
Great game, you got the best gameplay of all the games i`ve tested so far (~20)
I love the bullet sounds in die UI/Menus.
Cool western Theme, cool that you later pick up multiple weapons, and that you have to vacuuming in all the bullets. I think you got really much out of a few clever mechanics.
Very well done!
Great game, vacuuming bullets is amazing mechanics, nice to see new ideas. I had fun with it
Got to level 40, a bit messy over there, overall instantly enjoyed the rotation & movement of your bot. Great western atmosphere, sounds, music, robots, bell animation all very well done. Nice small arena kept in contained and new weapons spiced it up abit although I think the shotgun remained the best :). Great entry, really enjoyed it.
I had a lot of fun with the progression, starting out weak and gradually scaling up to ridiculous levels with bullets everywhere felt great! I loved being able to wield so many weapons, and the main mechanic, an interesting take on the theme, made the whole game feel very well fleshed out.
Great game and a fun concept, I loved the dodge attack. The time of day changes was a great effect and does a great job of giving the feel of a western.
cool game! I enjoyed it!
Love the concept! cowboy car and bullet robots are dope! felt very over the top as I got more weapons and was emptying my ammo reserves crazy fast.
had a blast with this one! I think the concept is quite unique. Great job :)
really enjoyable, love the aesthetic. i feel like the beginning is a bit too slow for my taste on a roguelike, but once the ball get's rolling it's really dope
i really enjoyed the game mechanics of being able to dash, suddenly acquiring guns, and even more guns!! xD i'm not sure if i missed it but it would be nice to know how much you can get hit before gameover unless it's until your on-hand guns are all broken? i got to round 47 and noticed a lot of lag due to all the ammo and guns dropped on the ground in addition to mobs continulously being spawned. super fun game though!! :D 💙
A very fun game! The mechanics are fun with a balance between relying on your guns and your dash attack. I do wish the dash attack got upgrades similar to the vacuum, but there's a chance I just didn't see them. As well the sound design and music were top notch, really made me feel like I was in a western. The progressive lighting through the rounds was also fun. Would love if enemies were a little more densely packed, there were periods where the number of enemies felt a little sparse.
Thank you for playing it and wonderful comment. Haha yes there is a dash upgrade, but it’s purely up to chance. As for the enemies, the later waves (around 20+) do pick up in enemy count quite a bit – either that or our game is just to easy for you!
Really like it, is a really clear aesthetic you wanted to portrait and i really liked it, it could use a little more time, but the fundation is really solid.
Gameplay wise my only critic is the Right click to collect, i ended up perma holding it, maybe you could make it so you have to spend 1 bullet to turn it on, and the make it turn off automaticly after shooting or dashing, this way, it has some limitations and risks. Nevertheless, thats only my dumb opinion, congrats on the game!
