Crazy how you made this in just 3 days. Really polished and fun. Good job!

Developer

Awww 😊 you're making me blush

Nice game

Thank you so much!

the polish is out of this world

driving feels fun, doing the air jumps to keep it cool is pretty tough without taking damage

even the surrounding material… the control “blueprint” that shows when you press ESC. So much polish everywhere.

You put a lot of work on this since the first version I saw and it shows.

Just super minor nitpicks:

“north” (in “follow the road north”) is a bit strange since (at least that I could see) there’s no compass

some ui weirdnes… there are 2 heat bars?

1. Thank you! There are so many little things that bother me but it means a lot to me that you would say that.

2. The driving took most of my time tbh. Unity wheel colliders are super tough. It was super tough to get the air control feeling nice without the character just flipping over and landing upside down.

3. Thanks, I wish I'd had the foresight to feature the blueprint and instructions more prominently, as I feel like lots of people try the game and quit discouraged before they even learn the mechanics.

4. Thanks!!!

5. Yea, I wish I'd had time to add in a little arrow pointing to the objective or something like that. The north road thing was just kind of a flavor thing.

6. The reason there are 2 heat bars is kind of funny. Myself and the person who did the UI couldn't agree on whether to implement a dial or a bar, so I just did both haha. Turns out he was right tho because I only ever look at the bar and I guess the dial is just decorative at this point

Solid game play! How can  you make this in 3 days, wow.

Developer

My friend did the music and the UI and the car was a free model on the asset store. The level is a few free textures slapped onto a height map taken from real world satellite data but I painted on a road and then smoothed it out. The majority of my time was spent testing and working on the core gameplay mechanics.

Developer

Also I only slept a total of like 5 hours

Really nice visuals, super fun and fluid movement controls!! Unfortunately the road you're lead on doesn't give you the cool ramps and jumps (but I suppose you should ignore them to get a faster time haha, maybe that's the point) but I think if there was more for the nice movement to react to the game would skyrocket in fun!

The music is really well composed and played! I think it could use some better mixing/mastering tho, it's a shame that the blazing guitars sound so muffled and the drums are not very present; but again, awesome composition and playing!

Nice reactive car engine sound!

Developer

The road is supposed to be a tutorial of sorts. Eventually the player is meant to discover they don't need to follow the road at all 🤣

Okay yep understood now! Haha

Very solid car game! Incorporates the theme well.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Wow nice car mechanics

Developer

Thank you so much! I hate wheel colliders so much!

What a song, what a game. Very nice overall car feel, very RC Car style. Awesome polish!

Developer(+1)

The music was made by https://itch.io/profile/gatlincura

But yea, the car physics took me literally at least 10 hours to get it working just right

Submitted(+2)

Cool camera control, vehicle customization and terrain. I like that the car feels like  a little RC-Car. The track and terrain could need a bit more stuff - but overall very nice to try to get good.

Developer(+1)

Yea, I wish I'd had time to make the level more memorable with stuff like cacti and rocks

Submitted(+2)

I like this game, the car is super cute!

I just wanna say I love that this game gave me an "ah-ha" moment looking at the listed times. That's an amazing feeling.

Developer

Did you realize that the road was merely a suggestion?

Submitted(+1)

Yeah like, it took me 3 minutes to run the course and I wondered how the heck are there times that are three times faster than me
That's when it hit me.

Developer

I intentionally made the road super long and windy so that players would get sick of it and drive off into the dunes haha

Submitted(+2)

This was really cool. Very visually striking aswell! Great entry

Developer

Thank you! I'm looking forward to playing your game as well!

Submitted(+2)

Very fun game, controls are very smooth. Going off road and controlling the car while airborne is super fun
