going to try again it froze on on me. Has potential. The inverted camera seems better for flight not walking.

I wouldn't say I liked the control much, but a solid entry

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, seems like the controls and UI were the main issues here

Thank you for playing!

Story and art design worked with the style of game. Plenty of direction to help the player progress. UI was buggy though and the inverted mouse controls weren't enjoyable. fishing mechanic wasn't very strong.

Good Effort

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, will take the suggestions into consideration in the future!

I can see a lot of effort went into the design, the art style is very cohesive and the game is story driven with tasks to complete. I like that it has a quest system which directs you on what to do next.  It feels like a full game when playing

The UI is buggy however, and almost every interaction or every other interaction i had to force close the game, and when i try to load or continue i spawn below the map, start falling and it opens the store page. Once i exit i start falling again and have to restart from scratch.  There was also an issue with clicking on the buttons sometimes not working.  The fishing minigame however was lacking. Played for a bit to see if there would be any chances but if there were i missed it and it was annoying starting over from scratch when dialogue froze the game
The main thing that instantly threw me off was the inverted looking controls and there was no in game option to change them.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback - yeah with the controls, I do spend a lot of time in Blender and playing Japanese games so instinctively mouse up is look up for me. I should have added a controls setting to change it as that isn't common for most people, will update that at some point.

Thanks for letting me know about the spawning bug, that never happened during playtesting so it'll be interesting to figure out what the issue is.

This is also my first game so I appreciate the feedback and will include it in my future games!

No problem! This was also my first game too and i got good feedback from others.
I see your setup uses autosave so maybe when you are switching to conversation, the game resets player character to 0:0:0 as the world location if its paused during UI text

Developer(+1)

I figured it out hahaha, the autosave was only applying to specific case(inventory updated, quest progressed) so if the player didn't do a manual save (ESC/P to get to the menu) and then exit the game, it would try to set them to (0,0,0) which is slightly under the landscape
I've fixed it (and also initialised the transform in the save file as a backup) but as we can't update it during voting I'll just have to wait until the end of the week

Thanks for your help!

Nice!

I had some trouble buying the fishing rod from Warren until I realized I actually had to increment the number of rods I wanted. Other than that quite enjoyable, although the inverted Y axis for the mouse was unusual. I guess some people might prefer it, but I haven't seen that in a long time in 3rd person games. Maybe make it a configurable option?

One thing I noticed was that I couldn't install this through the itch.io app, probably because the ZIP file wasn't marked as "Windows" compatible.

Developer

Thanks for your comments - I also think I should have added some UI tutorials for the shop

Yeah, I've seen a few people mention the inverted Y-axis hahaha. I work in Blender often so for me Mouse Up = Look Up, but I can see why people prefer the opposite and will update that in the future.

Apologies for that, I missed the checkbox to mark it as Windows compatible (which it should be) and wasn't sure if we were allowed to make changes after the submission.

Thanks for checking it out!

Really liked the overall style, it has a really cute vibe. Well done!

Developer

Thank you, much appreciated! :D

Well made! It felt like a "real" game. I like the Quest system so i know what to do next. The Fishing is simple but that is what i want in this type of games. The "My little Farm" style fits very well. What i did not like was that i could walk under water and that sometimes i could not continue the dialoge, i needed to exit and reenter the game window to make it work.

Developer

Many thanks for the feedback and for pointing out UI the bugs!
Yeah, I wasn't sure whether to block off the lakes  or add swimming, but that's something I'll definitely think about

Enjoyed the game! Love the UI and the bears :D. Got pretty surprised when after fishing 5-6 times I have nothing to put to the feed box, turns out I only caught old boots (although I'm pretty sure there was a fish at the bobber :D)

Encountered some minor bugs with the UI not getting the input, but nothing major.

Game feels well rounded, good luck with the further development!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Ahh yeah, I tried to implement it so that the chance of getting junk was medium to low but my maths has never been the best hahaha

Thanks for pointing out those bugs, hopefully they didn't disrupt your experience too much!
