Love this so much! I loved playing the one man band, and getting the big combos!
Admittedly, the best tactic seemed to be just standing in a single spot (it's quite hard to play while moving), rack up a massive combo, kill everyone, and then just walk to the end of the game. But hey! That's Bob for ya! Always full of surprises.
Character models (well... model) were great! Gameplay was unique, and this was very much a SBIG game in all aspects!
Well done and thanks for taking part in the jam!
This was pretty neat, I like the concept of using all the different instruments to fight off enemies. Though admittedly the controls are a bit cumbersome on PC, and I found sometimes the attacks had no effect on enemies?
There was simply too many enemies for me to get through so I had to call it quits eventually. I liked what I played though, blasting enemies back wtih multiple instruments at once was fun!
Good work!
Very fun game! I'm happy to see mine was not the only game in this jam to use the concept of fighting enemies with sound.
Fighting off hoards of enemies was super satisfying, though I will say the game was very hard. And yes I did quit (like a loser :( )
Not very satisfied with the ending. Killed 1146 enemies (the final 600 or so were apparently invisible, somehow dying from a guitar riff after reaching a combo of 300-ish from the triangle), the exit door eventually opened, and I was left to wander a desolate wasteland until eventually reaching the end of the floor and falling into the void. Also, didn’t find any reasons to use the cymbals or the slide whistle (inconvenient locations on the controller, didn’t want to risk losing my combo). Also, might have been worth making the enemies a bit more fragile, seeing as there is an utterly ludicrous amount of them for the player to force their way though.
Still, got a solid concept here, even if the execution was a bit dodgy.
Took a while for me to get a hang of it but didn't get the chance to try it with controller. Think there could be some more visual feedback (as in VFX/more visible animation) on your attacks to get a better idea of what they do during gameplay. Your 3D models really help with the jank part. Good entry.
It's not explained in the description but playing the musical instruments on beats gives you combo, which I assume makes instruments hit harder. (and I love it!)
The beats of the instruments are kinda out of sync with the music, though. I'm not sure if this is because of the input lag or game itself lag.
Also, I feel like there's not enough juice in each hit. When the player or the enemies get hurt, they just groan and have a stat change. They don't even twitch, glow red or emit particles, which makes it kinda hard to tell if you hit them or they hit you. The floor is also kinda uneven and the player often get stuck while walking around. I do believe that all of these are just small problems that are easy to fix, though.
I thought the gameplay was really creative! Hit box on the controls are a little tough, but the concept is amazing!
One band hero, loved it!
Very cursed overall, loved this
The instrument spam is so broken I love it
the guy sat on my head and it was all over for me
They've got the forbidden sleeper build, wish I was shaped like they are
Spamming the instruments to push away a large crowd was very fun!
