hm, there is an interesting and fun game here but needs some tweaks for that. once I updated the speed of the shots the gameplay became way more enjoyable, but made reaching 2000 coins impossible (or way too long) some balance and shop update which would make the collection faster would be welcome, even some over the top solutions, for we're making a deal with the devil
I agree. For this idea to work properly, the store definitely needs some creativity in the options that it's selling, among other things. I'll have to play and tweak with this idea after the jam and see if I can hit on a good combination that will make it both fun and challenging.
Thanks for playing.
Using your health bar for everything - to shoot and buy stuff is an excellent idea! The implementation has issues though. The damage upgrade doesn't have any purpose since all enemies died from 1 hit. Also, the final goal of 2000 souls is way too long unless you have more varying mechanics and monsters. I hope you make a better version of this, because the idea itself is great.
Yeah, technically the enemies do get harder over time and require more hits to take down (enemy difficulty increases every 5 minutes), so there is a reason for the upgrade, but let's be real, it's a poor implementation. But yeah, the idea does have merit. It just needs more polish, balancing, and variety, among other things.
Thanks for playing my game!
It was long and tedious, but I've finally managed to destroy enough pumpkins to collect enough souls to beat this game. Some sound effects and music would've been nice as well. Still, this was a nice jam submission overall.
It does take a bit to get to the full 2000. Thanks for playing through and beating the game.
Fun killing game, didn't get to 2000 souls was still a lot for me!
As some say the game lacks music and sounds, that would been nice to make the game more cozy or arcade like. The art is simple and nice everything worked as it should.
Nice game well done for the jam!
Hey thanks for playing and for the kind words. And yeah, sounds would have made a big difference. After the jam I'll probably ho add sounds for the sake of completeness.
I quickly got overrun by the pumpkins at first haha...took me a while to realise you get health back when killing them. Chill little game!
Yeah, it would probably help if there were a better indicator for health recovery. Thanks for playing my game.
Very cool little game! As others have mentioned it's missing sound effects. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong or not but, I found that there was a point in the game where my fire rate was so slow I couldn't kill anything without my bullet being deflected. The fire rate buff only fixed it for a couple of shots. Looking forward to seeing if you develop this further, nice work!
It's entirely possible that there might be a bug in there. I'll have to take a look at it later. Thanks for playing the game and for the feedback.
Interesting concept and gameplay. Looking forward to a more polished version.
Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to play my game.
pretty fun game. the enemy spawn time is just too slow, i think. still, nice work!
Yeah, you're probably right on that. Some tweaking and fine tuning of the gameplay would definitely help.
Thanks for the feedback and for playing my game.
The game was very interesting, if you add a good story behind it and new levels, it could be a really good game. I didn't find any bugs and the game has no sound?
Yeah, no sound. It was one of the things to hit the cutting room floor as I was rushing to get things finalized before the due date, along with extra levels and enemy types. I might take and polish the concept more following the game jam.
