The game was fun, with very different art and two other games.

Fun! Really unique and interesting game. I like the artstyle. Was definitely too hard for me lol. Great work, congrats!

Fun game. I didn’t expect the login system either, first I’ve seen this jam so great idea there! It was perhaps a little too difficult but as a fun little arcadey game, it’s pretty good. Well done!

Hello there! thank you so much for playing and giving feedback!
yeah i think i need to rebalance it once the gamejam's over ahahaha!
the thing is just too damn difficult! anyhow once again, thank you so much for playing!

Not where to start! As for the gameplay, I liked having 2 different controllers (the boat and the character on it). I found it original and challenging! However, the request to connect on each attempt was a little demotivating (I suspect this is due to a lack of time, reading the comments I saw that you had provided the F4 key). The in-game actions seem difficult to learn and predict, as they’re quick and seem random, but you’ve already pointed that out. I like the game’s atmosphere and art direction, which gives it a flash-game-like charm that works really well. In short, the concept is very cool, the great classic of balancing could make it very enjoyable, plus you had planned a ranking and that, even we would have wanted and did not have, so a big bravo!

Next, let’s talk about the Game Over screen… I ended up far, far away from the game by staying a little too long on this screen haha!

Developer

Hello There! thank you so much for playing and rating!
Wow such a very extensive feedback... now i feel like I given a bad feedback to other games i tried today xD!
anyhow the reason why its hard to predict is because, i had been using an RNG based system, wherein i use a randomizer to
randomize a time for something to spawn, originally the hands were suppose to be rare, but i think it broke when i released the game
hence why it spawn almost every time, also the spike spawn at a random interval depending on your score... very few people actually encountered the boss of this game, i should've known to make them spawn early, so you all could see it xD

anyhow, yes i ran out of time... well i do have like few minutes to clean things up... but i learned from my past mistake to always upload the game early, since like i expected, my internet slowed down drastically, causing the thing to be uploaded 10x slower(hence i had to upload it to many distributing platforms) xD

Also also, i hope the gameover didn't trigger too much.... ya know what i mean... I once again ran out of time to include a warning regarding that screen, but i guess, i didn't ran out of time to make the loreeeeeeeee(not really its unfinished, i couldn't finish it on time aswell xD)

Anyhow thanks again for playing and giving a very detailed critic!

Reminds me of the old flash games I used to play!

The controls are somewhat confusing for me to play though.

Developer

Hey there! thanks for playing!
I placed a secret easter egg on the intro, showcasing the character and the boat's control
if you look below the art decals
you'll see controls and their associated actions xD

Anyhow thanks for playing!

While I've been having a hard time with the character controls, I love the sound design & visuals -- and the leaderboard is something original that I haven't seen in a game jam project before. This is definitely a unique game that stands out in this jam.

Developer

Hey there! thank you so much for rating and giving feedback!
Well... some people said that they absolutely hated the login system, I'm sorry if that gave you troubles too whilst accessing the leaderboard!
although i had to squeeze my time and add a leaderboard within the timeframe.
I figured i could save time by utilizing a login system as a temporary solution!
also since this would prevent hacking and also unfair gameplay...
anyhow thank you so much for playing!

I'm giving you review on behalf of my friend because i don't have a internet,

The leaderboard is a really nice touch, well made

Text is a bit hard to read due to a resolution problem perhaps, tho i really liked the font,I liked the art style, and it would be great if you can skip the first cutscene

Hah, although it is difficult, but a fun game! Cool sound effects and visuals in general (and the page on ic io....)! The leaderboard, of course, motivated me to play a few more times :D

Hey there! thank you so much for playing and giving feedback!
I'm so so sorry for the problem, the login system had cost... i had to use it as a temporary solution... i forgot to code it when i still have time
ahaha! sorry for troubles!

It's okay, it didn't ruin the experience too much! It was still fun to play!

I loved the sound effects, the art and the opening dialogue also created a pretty terrifying atmosphere for me. In those aspects I feel that it fulfills quite well, I'm not a fan of tryhard games but I tried to play it for a while, maybe adding some instructions on how to restart the game after dying would help facilitate the user experience and see how to handle the issue of constant login when starting a game. Pretty good and interesting

Hey there! thanks for the Feedback!
If you ever want to replay it again, you can always press f4 on the start intro cutscene to skip it all entirely!
However i'm not sure if i have made a devtool to skip the gameover entirely im afraid...
anyhow, thank you so much for playing and giving feedback!

Fun little game. I liked the sound design and the artstyle. But I found it a bit annoying, that I alwas had to read the whole text again, when I restrarted. Or is there an option to skip this part?

Developer(+1)

I Did not notice on my devtools, there was one to skip the intro entirely, though it requires you to get authenticated(im sorry that i had to use this, i was running out of time so i had to resort into quick and painless way to implement a leaderboard!)

try pressing f4 once you've logged in/authenticated!
it should skip you to the main game, effectively skipping the intro entirely!

This was hilarious!

The craziness of it makes it really charming :)

it reminds me of those newgrounds games! Nice one!

The crazy art style sets up a unique experience, and the death screen with pop-up windows and the QR code was a creative touch. I could see the developer’s unique vision for gameplay, which is refreshing. On the downside, the registration process felt strange, the long intro screen made restarting frustrating, and there was an issue where the game dropped me to the ground unexpectedly, which felt unfair. Overall, it’s a very unusual game—though not entirely my style, I appreciate its originality. Thanks for the experience!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the Feedback man! I Appreciate it!
sadly though i didn't actually had a time to place a counter measure to skip the intro, i know its a bit long, but along the programming stage
ive been using the devtools so this went over my head when i was developing it!
Also also, ye the game is abit unfair, 3/5 of my testers were confused about how to play it xD!
Atleast You weren't one of those players who didn't get frustrated at the hand falling from the sky Ahahaha!
also i plan on removing the login soon!(i just added it since i need a quick and painless way to make the leaderboard, which is where the login username were used for xD)
I'll definitely work with it and fix the bumps and rough-edges!
Once again thanks for playing!

I understand you. We also had challenges during development, and a lot slipped our minds, which is why our game feels broken. But if you have meta-knowledge, you can actually beat it, though who really cares about that, right?

Submitted(+1)

Pretty spooky, the windows popping up definitely scared me! lol Pretty cool good job.

Developer (1 edit)

Lol, I tried my best to not make it cheezy and well... over the top horror, i did a terrible job, but atleast the pop-up clutched it xD
