Only wish I could walk a little faster, walking feels slow paced compared to the rest of the game.
Really good looking, great sounding and interesting game, I think the stream of light was a bit of stretch but it really doesn't matter cause I didn't even think of the theme, the game is just that fun but the time limit is implemented really well and in a very different way then expected. And some other problems I had have already been addressed by Mr.Boss-inator. Also the rotating face is really satisfying cause seeing a almost 3D like object in a 2D game is always fun and adds a lot of depth. Also for someones first game jam the game is really polished
This is a stunningly well-constructed game. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a tutorial or cut scene at the start that teaches the basic mechanic of rotating the mirrors. I wandered around with no idea what to do for a lonnng time then watched Jupiter Hadley's stream to figure out what I could interact with.
Thank you for your feedback.
I admit, a tutorial would have been welcome. We had thought about it, and then we thought that the explanation in the welcome screen would be enough. Obviously not! Next time we will be more vigilant!
Anyway, thank you very much for playing!
Wow... this game was a lot of fun to play. Looks great, sounds great, plays great. Time limit adhered to. I enjoyed playing this one.
Thanks for playing, glad you liked the game!
Really cool game! I included it in my Time Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Oooooh! Thank you very much for giving visibility to our creations, it's adorable!!!
Of course, I went for a look on your Youtube channel :)!
Thank you very much for playing! I hope you liked it!
This is amazing! This game really incapsulares those Indiana Jones vibes, with traps being used in various ways and being incorporated with the puzzles later on. The use of theme and limitation are spot on. And I love the two-phase gameplay, it really puts a twist on the same level you've been playing. Heck, you can even try using the puzzles in your advantage by setting everything up in a way that you can stand next to a certain statue when the countdown begins in order to have the most optimal path to the exit before collecting all the treasure. Every level has something memorable, and the whole gameplay was very intuitive.
But it would be unfair not to include any feedback regarding things that could be improved.
-While gameplay itself was intuitive, for the first 3 levels I was desperately trying to interact with pots, they misleaded me a little :p The point is - you should probably highlight objects you can interact with when you're close to them.
-Maybe the arrow trap and the trapdoor needed to look a bit more unique from each other. Sure, if you look at them long enough you can tell them one from another, but IMO sharing the same red border makes it hard to differentiate them sometimes, maybe they need borders of different color, or have special patterns not just on the tile itself, but on the said border as well. Another alternative would be to make the trapdoor look more like a hatch, while the arrow trap look like a giant button. But that's just how I would probably do it, you do you.
-Running is cool, but it would be even cooler if I could stop running on demand. The way it depletes the exhaust meter no matter what is sometimes mildly infuriating.
With that said, this is a great and highly polished game. You're very likely to win the jam.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
I'm glad you like it, we had a lot of fun bringing it all to life.
Regarding your ideas, indeed, highlighting the treasures in order to better identify them is an excellent idea.
About the colors of the traps, we decided (by challenge) to use only a limited palette (lost centuries) with a very small difference by adding a splash of gold. I understand that we do not make the difference between the multiple traps.
And regarding the sprint, TBH, I hadn't even noticed, lol. It was my teammate's part, ah ah!
Thank you for playing and thank you for your valuable feedback!
Great job. I liked the art and puzzles. As the levels went on I found the traps more and more frustrating, though. They detracted from the experience, the puzzles were really solid, but after dying several times on the level with statues on spikes I gave up. I didn't manage to open any of the chests either, was there a way to do that?
Hey! Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry for the frustration. I see that you have reached the last level. It does require a bit of dexterity.
Regarding the treasures, they can be collected once the puzzle has been solved (the timer starts at this moment). So you can spot them in the dark before going to pick them up before the time runs out.
No light (no pain), no treasure (no gain)!
Thanks for playing!
Love the way the limitation is implemented, it's a direct Time Limit, but with its own twist on the idea.
Besides that, the art work is great! Love the style.
Nice job!
Thank you very much for your feedback, it's my first jam.
I just discovered drawing and animation tools, it was a great experience. Thanks to my teammate for dragging me into it. Precious XP for the next one!
Thanks for playing !
