How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
Boss, was a litteral interperitation of a Boss like figure giving orders. The theme "On The Edge" reffers to the stress system in the game, feeling of being on edge and stressing out close to breaking down.

Finished it! Got a little scared in that last level that I was gonna lose but I made it. I really enjoyed this! Loved the sound design and music, it really set the scene and tone very well. Loved the resource management of the 3 stress-reducing pickups - overall it felt like you turned the idea of fetch quests into a fast-paced tense action mechanic which I thought was really great! The stress of navigating big levels looking for the bubbles over people's heads landed really well, as did talking to some of them and realizing your stress meter was still going up.
Great job! Oh also drinking in the parking lot was fun haha. I don't think I needed to because I did it once in the office and it was fine, but it would be cute if you could only drink in the parking lot.
Wow, what a great write up thank you so much! I'm glad it was fun and stressfull. Such a big gamble not know if it would work during development.
It was orignaly planned that you would fail if drinking within range of a NPC but ran out of time. I still kept the warning dialogue in there becuase I thaught it would be hilarious to still scare people of a threat that doesn't exist.
This is soooo cuuuute, chars seem to have a personality and main char animation is kinda hilarious. You get immersed in it real quick. I like that the water drinking thing seems to be always smiling
Glad it was imersive for you. Thanks for playing!
Nice work! I really enjoyed this! I think it's very clever how the sense of humor is embedded into the gameplay (e.g. fetching coffee for people or taking painkillers to gain health) which makes the tasks feel meaningful rather than it feeling like a laundry list of things. Just one comment about the UI - perhaps if there's a way to progress dialog with the keyboard (since the game is most played on the keyboard), I think that'd help with the seamlessness of transitioning in/out of dialog!
Thank you for comment! I'm super glad you enjoyed the humour in it. Tried to make it feel natural and not forced.
Yeah the continue dialogue thing was planned on the to do list during the polish phase, then I suddenly remembered i forgot it after submitting it haha.
This game was great. Had so much fun playing. I could feel the stress.
Glad you felt the stress! Thanks for playing!
It's like you wanted me to have stress!!! lol So fun! :D
Thanks for playing and sharing it! Glad you got stressed out so much, as intended.
I loved this game, I can see me playing a version of if on my switch honestly.
I like the artstyle and music along with background office noises. Also, I appreciate how well communicated my tasks were and the needs for every employee. Well done!
Glad you loved it! And it's great your thaught everything was clear, that was honestly the scariest part of the jam as I really didn't want to creat some kind of block of text to read explaining what to do.
Yeah, that's one of the biggest challenges. You manage to keep it simple with the icons and the objectives remained clear.
The room distribution was nice, so I can easily remember where to go and who was asking for what.
I loved it.
The workload, consumable and level design balance was spot on for the stressed out feeling.
I also find it uncanny that your idea is quite similar to what I tried to do with mine, fighting being on the edge of a breakdown managing stress and increasing tasks.
Thanks, glad you loved it, balancing was definitely the scariest part haha, glad it felt right.
Yeah I kind of knew everyone would do something similar, I just had to try nail the execution.
The art style and animation in this game made it feel so good and fun to run around an office environment. Having different rooms to explore, even just the detail put into the parking lot, was really nice. And that speed boost from the coffee was a great feeling while completing tedious tasks.
I thought the sound selection and audio tracks were great, but the mixing felt a little off. I do love the tedium of office chatter and phones ringing, I just think they'd be more effective if dialed back some.
Humorous writing and a great way to implement the On the Edge requirement. Great game. Great work!
Thanks for playing I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah mixing is always hard. I don't know how reliable my headphones and speakers are for mixing on the fly along side my bad hearing haha.
Solid game, I enjoyed it quite a bit!
Thanks for playing!
GG!!!!!!!
Cheers!
really cool game loved the sound effects and the music well done
Glad you enjoyed it! It's always fun running around your house making differnt noises.
yea it also makes it sound better in my opinion
This game is definitely my favourite spin on the office-environment games in the jam - a perfect balance in difficulty, really simple controls and easy to understand - loved the humour, graphics and the audio was great too. Overall, really clean execution and gameplay :D
Glad you thaught it was easy to understand! That was the scariest part of releasing it.
I had so much fun with your game! the graphics and music match the proposal well. I already had the idea of a stress bar for a game, it was cool to see it implemented so well here, good job!
Thanks for comment. Really glad you enjoyed it and had fun!
I laughed at the end, pretty accurate
Fun to play, solid as coding and nice progression level
The stuff to do really make me feel stressed lol, good job!
I'm glad you laughed, as I hope everyone did. Thanks for playing!
I would like to mute the sound of the phone, it's so annoying because it sounds like a real phone: i can't focus in the game though.
I like the graphic style and the simple tasks you have to do, but how the simple task still you have to do. It's a fun feature you have to "restart" when the stress levels gets too high. There are some potential, but while the game makes feel more stress than be relaxing, is not often a good sign.
Yeah phone is like in the ambience sound file so it's a little hard to mute.
Thanks for playing and the feedback though!
A really enjoyable game. It’s not too hard and after the first two levels I got the hang of all the mechanics. Clean arts style and a pleasant music. It’s a shame there are only so many levels.
Glad you wanted more! I wanted 5 levels, but with jams you just gotta be respectable of everyones time to play other games. Wish I could have done more, but this felt jam length.
I completely agree, the length was just right for a jam game. By saying I wanted more I simply wanted to express my enjoyment from playing it.
People really seem to like this, so I may build more levels and things. A proper release would be nice.
I’ll be on the lookout for that.
The game is pretty good, I really like the music and the balance between stuff to do and maintaining the stress level low with items! Since I have to do everything fast maybe a map of the floor would help me going through without having to memorize every single spot I've been. I finished the game, good job!
Thanks man, I appriciate that you finished it. Yeah a pop up map was on the to do list but for polish, but just ran out of time. Didnt want to get stuck ina potential hours long rabbit hole, on something Ive never actually done before. It's something I may add post jam.
With out doubt one of my favourite games from the Jam so far! Fantastic effort. The only thing I'd change is dont have the mouse to click through the dialogue, use E or something.
Thanks for the kind words man! Yeah that one was on the polish list, but then I submited it and thought oops.
So impressed with this entry! Great job on this! The music, sound affects, and pixel art are all top notch and worked together to turn a corporate office into a jaunty, up-beat, altogether amazing play experience. I loved the combination of smaller game design elements like resource and inventory management with literal task management. The ever rising stress bar was a great way to motivate the player, and having not only the stress pills, but also task completion and coffee intake, affect it added a lot of depth to the mechanic. 10/10, amazing job!
Stop, youre gonna make me get teary eyed.
OK, played the correct game this time! Awesome job here! I absolutely adore the pixel art. The character's walk cycle is super cute and the boss is just the right amount of jerk. I wish they would tell me what happened to Sam though...conversation cut out too early! I'm guessing he was another poor intern. Anyway, excellent work!
Hmmm... I think your in the wrong comment section?
You are completely right. I have a bunch of games on open tabs to play, so sorry about that lol
Haha I know the feeling it's all good man. Well, I hope you get around to reviewing this one anyways lol.
Haha thanks! Well the convos cutting off were a fun way to show your player not listening to office banter wasting your time theres actually 25 nice comments, 25 mean one's and 25 time wasters. Every player gets a little nugget or line.
