Loved the overall graphic fidelity, though a few assets seemed oddly blurry? Overall the UI, music choice and creative theming was awesome. I genuinely enjoyed playing and would gladly play a full version of this in the future.
Impressive UI for a jam game! I think it could be massively improved very quickly by increasing the movement speed a fair bit (but that's just my opinion, of course). :P
Really nice game! Your response to the theme was creative and really good, and the puzzles were very entertaining. It felt good when I finally figured them out. I agree with what a couple others are saying - the ones where you had to use the respawn to quickly move around the level was neat and really satisfying to solve! I also really liked the UI and level transitions - they were well polished and very satisfying to see animate. I don't know if it was intentional, but there were a couple levels where I just had to go touch the bottom of the block sticking out over its platform without dealing with any of the other stuff in the level, but other than that I really enjoyed the levels. I'd suggest maybe having some kind of indication of which levels need two deaths to pass through, like a different color door or a progress stat. But other than that I really liked the game. Well done!
I would also suggest coyote time because in platformers, when the player steps just a bit over the edge the jump won't work.
But the puzzles were really fun overall.
The game was well polished and the sound was enjoyable and cozy. Good game!
Really liked the later levels, where you had to time your deaths correctly. Also, big props for including stuff like level select and sound volume options - rare to see them in a jam game!
My only real complaint that haven't been already mentioned is that the movement (esp. jumping) felt a bit unresponsive. I really recomend checking out the coyote time trick somewhere on the internet (I believe that Jonas even has a video on this topic on his channel) and to use it every time you're implementing a platform movement.
Really creative entry compared to the other similar entries on this jam. Good job! :)
Fun game! Lots of levels for a 72h time window, music and fast restart make it very chill to play.
I really like the level design and the way you approached the topic, it's really simple but makes for a really fun game. Though, the only thing I noticed is that the UI and the game sprites don't fit together at all. The game sprites are pixel art, but the UI buttons are high quality sprites without any pixels noticeable. Should probably look into that ;) Overall, it's a great and fun game! :D
I always have mixed feelings on killing such a cool character ;-; Gameplay is solid and creative! Challenging but really fun puzzles that feel rewarding when you complete them. Art and Music feel great! Great game :)
This was pretty cool! never knew I could fail at failing so hard
I really liked the game, the art is very good, only the buttons and the text dont fit well. Keep working on it, the gameplay is 5 stars!
I dont get the second Level :( I was not able to find out how to kill myself (which is an odd thing to say in a comment) ^^
Fantastic game! I really like the gimmick where you have to kill yourself fast enough to spawn closer to the box!
