I really enjoy it 5/5 but also HO BOY i got stuck a lot
I'm glad you liked it! :D
I feel your pain, the ladders were added to make it easier to navigate but they are a bit awkward to use.
This is neat, and you definitely nailed the atmosphere! But, it seems like the game is easier the less you fail, which sort of goes against the theme. It also may be too easy, because I got to the end without ever dying. Overall, I had a fun time playing this :)
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it. The theme didn't turn out so good since some of the final features didn't make it. Next time :)
This was actually probably one of my favorite games that I've played. I'm a big fan of shops and mining I guess haha, so I was having a ball. This may also have been the final push I needed to get into Unity, being able to make 3D games opens so many doors like this one. Having to go all the way back up to the shop can be a chore sometimes, but at the same time I like the fear of getting lost and trapped in the mines so I think it works out!
Thanks for playing and thank you for the kind words! :D
I also noticed that going up was not that easy/fun. Added ladders to solve that but they are a bit awkward to use (and then ran out of time)
+1 for 3D games! For this game I've used Godot Engine but I do get the appeal of Unity
The best tool is the one you know how to use well so whatever you pick just stick with it even if your initial attempts are far below expectations :)
A nice game, although (this is just personal opinion, of course) I think it would be more fun if it focused more wholly on the tunnelling aspect. I found myself wanting to ignore the shop etc. and just wanting to tunnel deep into the ground in all directions and enjoy the atmosphere. :P
Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback!
Yeah I get what you are saying. It was just easier to make collecting currency the goal instead of exploration since that would require adding interesting things to the mines :)
This is just an amazing game. A 3D game that captures all the charms of old-school 2D rogue-likes and adds magic to it! With more polish on the UI and interaction feedback you have a very solid game on your hands!
Looking forward to playing the full version of this.
Wow that is high praise! Thank you so much! Let's see if there is time to further extend it :)
very cool game and art style!
Thank you! :D
Wow! I'm impressed you put this together so quick. It's like a mini Minecraft rougelike. Awesome job.
Thank you for playing! There were a few more things I wanted to add so it wasn't too close to minecraft but time is always short.
Cool game, I can see myself getting addicted.
Ahah, thanks for playing!
Definitly a game you can spend hours in.
Nice overall atmosphere and a lot of things to achieve.
Thank you for playing! You would run out of mine after 10 minutes I think ahah
There is an actual "ending" if you dig deep enough :) (tools help but all of them are mandatory!)
I liked the 2.5 d style and found it interesting how you'd used it for a 3d mining game.
I found the ladders really difficult to use and the mine navigation in general was hard.
Cool game though.
Thanks for playing! The whole challenge is navigational since there are no enemies. Ladders were supposed to help moving around but they are indeed a bit awkward to use. Cheers!
Very interesting idea! Quite unique for the jam. The one this is I found it frustrating to navigate my own messy mine haha but maybe that's my fault? Also I don't know if it's a good idea to have the player lose all money upon death because they've probably dug deep by then but then and won't have access to ladders. Perhaps I am missing something but how is the theme tied in exactly?
Thank you for playing! The messy mine paths are definitely part of the challenge. The ladders were an attempt to facilitate getting back up but they are not very intuitive to use.
The plan was for the player to die somewhere down there, immediately go back down to the same spot (collecting your previous money) and try to get back up for tools (even if it cost you multiple tries to get back up). You can pickup the money the deceased miner had so in my mind both the tunnels you dig and the money you collect can be used by future miners, making death ("losing") actually a viable way of exploring the mines.
There were some more features that would reinforce the theme for once you got to the bottom of the mine but time ran out :)
Oh I see, ah yeah that's a tricky idea, I guess you're not really progressing though right just getting back what you had found by playing the game normally.
Well the damage in the mines is permanent, so death is always useful anyway. But yes, I get what you are saying.
A mining game, that's original for a game jam. The mood is great. It's at the same time repetitive and addictive. Refreshing submission !
If you like mixing 2D and 3D give a try to "Tale of dead and re-dead".
Thank you for playing! Also thank you for the suggestion, your game is gorgeous!
I enjoyed this game. I had hard figuring out what to do at first. but I figured it out, solid game here.
Thanks for playing! And thank you for the feedback :D
Pretty good game
Thank you for playing!
Awesome freakin game! I really loved playing your game! The music really set the mood, and the upgrade stuff is amazing too! The ability to buy ladders really helps with getting back to the surface, but it is pretty hard to get back there either way. I may have had to die from exhaustion to reset from the time I didn't bring ladders, but hey failure is progress! Really nice work and job!
Thank you for playing and for the kind words! :D
Yes! Every miner might die but the following have it easier :)
Edit: It's a great game, great music choice. Only thing is it is a bit tricky for me to get up. Now i know that i can press ESC and then rezise the Window (and thanks for rating my game, even if i think mine is very bad)

It's a great game, great music choice the only thing is, that ist is annoying that I could't rezise the window and that the music don't stops when you minimize it, i don't know if you have control over that in the engine, and it is a bit tricky for me to get up. (and thanks for rating my game, even if i think mine is very bad)
Hey, thank you for playing :)
Going up is indeed tricky, I added ladders to make it easier to get up but they are not very intuitive to use.
Don't belittle your game! You got something working in such a short time with multiple mechanics and perspectives which is very cool. Next time you'll be able to get even more content done :)
Simple yet addictive! I loved it! The controls feels smooth and good, and the graphics are cool! Nice work :)
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :D
Nice game, mining mechanic is fun, only thing is it can be a little disorienting and hard to find the way out. Good job though good game :)
Yes! A visual indicator of recent steps was in the to do list but didn't make it that far. Glad you liked it :)
I actually ended up playing for longer than other games, and I didn't even notice. Visuals were fun and idea is great. Overall it's ok!
Thank you for playing! I hoped to get a few more things to do at the end but time never stretches enough :)
