thanks for playing! I made this game in GMS2

The double jump doubling as an attack is sooo much fun

It's adorable and terrifying at the same time 0.0 I love it!

Very cute! The witch hat and cursed doll are my favorites.
My only complaint is that I have to trade the familiars. I want to keep all of them!!

These powerups are a lot of fun. I'm a huge fan of big franky and the electric "knife"!
I found pressing select to pickup weapons to be a bit awkward - I would consider using UP to pickup stuff

This feels like it came right out of 1985! Amazing job

Thank you! (A secret feature is that you can punch the powerup orbs to make them change color)

ᗜˬᗜ

This soundtrack is SO GOOD.

Playing with all the different pieces was a lot of fun. My bishops carried me to victory!

It's just like a classic multicart game you'd find in the discount section at the game store, but with the charm turned up to 11.

My favorite was definitely Far Sea Invaders.

Thanks so much for joining!

Cute puzzles, with Panel de Pon and Magical drop vibes! I WILL save the forest.

Yes. Assets must be made during the jam, so the use of asset packs and similar things is prohibited.

With the exception of fonts. Feel free to use any fonts

Yes!

No

Feel free to use that palette. We're not too strict on the colors. The palette provided in the resources is just an example.

Hey Ducks!

1) A trading card game where urban legends duke it out!

2) A lil farming simulator. Hang out with the local wildlife

Oh yeah, this one's oozing with style.

I'd consider adding some kind extra indicators that my bullets are hitting an enemy, on top of their health percentage dropping ofc. Something like a small collision effect when bullets hit, or make the enemies flash white for a frame. That kind of visual feedback is very important to the shmup feel!

Beautiful graphics and pretty patterns. It's got a gameboy color feel that I adore.

This feels like a game that was created by people who love the shmup genre.

I am a baby when it comes to the ancient art of Danmaku, so my score wasn't worth posting lol

The music for this game is amazing! Great work

Thanks for playing! Stealing is wrong, so if you steal a lot, the police will use more force! (All enemies become stronger and bullet patterns become harder depending on the number of stars you have)

So colorful and fun! The tension of needing to use the ability to live, but not wanting to lose progress... The ultimate consequence

Thanks for playing! As for the theme of consequences, if you power up (gain more stars), the enemies become stronger and bullet patterns become harder.

I'm really loving the art. Especially the explosions! Catstronaught is very cute.

In the heat of action, I found the mines a little hard to see. Maybe make em bright and red!

A nice cool and atmospheric twin stick shooter here. I am a professional machine-gun wizard.

A second or two of invulnerability after taking damage would be nice. When a monster spawned on top of me, I would lose half my health in an instant.

I did a quick google search for "bit crusher". You can make sounds effects like this too! haha

Thanks for playing! The theme lies with the rank system. If you decide to increase your fire power (as shown by the stars in the hud), all the enemies will also become stronger!

Hey John!

I usually map NES controls to a keyboard like this:

Arrow Keys = Dpad (up, down, left, right)

Z/X = A and B

Return = Start

R Shift = Select

Mobile controls and gamepad support is not necessary.

I do not expect developers to include these features as it would be extra development time, but you can always go the extra mile and make your game mobile friendly if you'd like to.

Hi! The jam won't have a theme.

I may add optional themes to future NES jams though.

Amazing art here. How did you get so many details on such a tiny screen?

McLovin for life

These animations are amazing! Great entry here

Very fun and very creative! I'm a big fan of the silly walking sound too.

Xyston is my son. There's lots of flashing, maybe consider adding a warning.

Delightfully cute! A greyscale color palette doesn't do this adorable art justice. It needs more pink!

(btw, I am the fastest bunnova in the galaxy)

Cut Content :(

Super bubbly and super fun! WE NEED MORE BULLET HELLS

Love the palette ;)

This is an amazing puzzle game with superb graphics and addictive gameplay ❤️
It really evokes the feeling of all those wacky puzzle titles on the Gameboy.
I would love if it had some fun sound effects too.

"GOOD LUCK!"
The polish on this game is amazing!

It was this room; but I realize now that they're just tricky jumps, not impossible!
