Hey there, I am trying to get other to re-submit their reviews for my game if possible...it was deleted and removed from the Jam on accident based on a technicality which was solved between the Jam Host and a particular asset used in the game...please if you have time, energy, and/or generosity to re-saved your ratings/reviews for the game. I am going through and re-saving yours given my browser kept your rating saved data on my end...but it looks like I lost all 73 reviews and ratings from my end....  :( best of luck to you in the Jam

Yes out of all the space shoots this wasn't my favorite sticking with 3/5 rating best of luck to you! It was good just not my favorite out of the bunch and the style was a little harder for me personally to enjoy it properly probably

fun little game! takes a bit to get used to the controls, but it feels pretty good to play! i really like the visuals as well, the boss is fun, but you can just kind of go inside it and immediately damage the weak point from the outside, which let me get this score lol

but other than that, great game! i wish there were some more bosses

Once I'd gotten used to the control mechanic this was really great - otherwise it's really tough at the beginning. Really nice swapping mechanic in place.

Sub 1m nice

Anyways, the visual are cool, I really the effects of the laser attack. The music and sound are nice too. The gameplay is interesting, the three ship mechanics is pretty cool, the granades ship feels like the strongest to me. The boss is cool, I like how it will stop shooting laser after you break the parts, and the second 2 is unexpected.

Tho the control hard to get used to, the player turning speed is a bit slow.

But still, cool game!

Developer(+1)

Thx, That's a pretty good time!

What happened here ^^ Finally I beat the boss, but I'm not sure what happened during the game, Maybe its a bug, but my spaceship disappeared and the screen gets blue:

Overall, nice idea. Navigating in space is very challenging, but perhaps that's intentional. The sound effects fit really well, and the art style matches quite nicely too. Despite their simplicity, the boss attacks feel powerful.

Maybe a small indicator of where the boss currently is would help, especially if the shotgun knocks me back to the edge of the universe again. lol

Developer

Yeah that seems like a bug, not sure why it happened.

That's the best score I could get  lol

This has some pretty cool ideas and some great execution to back them up tbh.

I loved how you had a few ways to incentivise switching ships like each ship having their own health, or that switching ships allows you to dodge, or that setting up bombs with the orange ship and then using the shotgun ship to blow them up does quite a lot of damage.

Although I personally think that the recoil of the shotgun ship was a little too much. I ended up flying away a little too much sometimes and lost track of where the boss was lol

Unfortunately, on replaying I realised that the best way to beat the boss was just to ignore the exchange mechanic completely and just go straight for the core of the boss and destroy that. Mostly because that secret phase caused from destroying all of the boss's lasers was monstrously difficult. Though maybe you wanted to incentivise not destroying all the turrets with that secret phase lol ?

Presentation as a whole was great all around. Both in terms of visuals and audio. Although I felt that the green screen tearing effect was a little too much in general. Still, this is a great entry overall considering what it sets out to do

Developer(+1)

Thx for the kind words, the greenscreen tearing is a bug that appeared last minute in my web build because I switched to cpu particles. And the "secret phase" was mean to give different option on how to tackle the boss so the option to go straight for the core was intentional.

the boss and different ship system is cool wish it was a bit longer though.

Control scheme took a while to get used to but the implementation of the exchange mechanic as both the dodge button as well as changing weaponry is pretty simple, well executed and overall works great!

Some of my personal pointers:

- I find it funny that you can just get yourself stuck under the boss shields and start laying down hell from within while being safe from all attacks

- Boss attacks, art and visuals is actually insanely good. From the moment I saw it on the discord chat, I fell in love.

- Gameplay took a while to get used to, after the initial hurdles, it gets pretty good. I think it would benefit greatly from a dedicated tutorial within the game but otherwise, neato!

Developer

Thanks a lot.

I Was unsure what to do with the player getting stuck on the boss as collision damage/knockback would probably come with a slew of other problems, and with the controls being a bit difficult I didn't want to punish crashing to much.
So in the end I decided to do nothing and either let people ignore it or enjoy abusing it.

The visuals are top-notch! Such a fun game you've made, well-done! :D

Good game all around! There was some graphical issues, but since its a game jam those are excused. The exchange mechanic was implemented perfectly, full 5 on that. However, I wished there was an arrow pointing to the boss or something, because I got really lost the first time i switched to orange and spent like 2 minutes just trying to find where the boss is lol

Developer

thx, Yeah the arrow was on my list. but since the boss comes to you I put it on the backlog. But since the player wouldn't know this if they keep flying in search of the boss the boss wont keep up.

Very good entry!

The controls take some getting used to, and I wouldn't say that they were comfortable, even when I did get used to them, but not that big of a deal, overall.

There were some graphical glitches. The screen flashed green when the boss moved and deployed lasers at the same time.

The music, sounds and overall audio is very nice and fitting.

I love the art direction and the choice of palette.

The exchange mechanic was implemented in a mandatory and meaningful way, and was also feeling very good to use it as a way to dodge the lasers!

I definitely see myself playing this game if it ever gets built upon or expanded!

Developer(+1)

Thx for the great feedback, Yeah the controls are quite unconventional but i think that could bring a good challenge in mastery but yeah I don't doubt it might need some tweaks to be comfortable to use. (I might have just played to much Nova Drift that I know these controls by heart)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback from the composer!

so cute style and nice bosses!

Host(+2)

Fun game with an interesting boss! I really like the swapping the player mechanic especially as a dodge. The controls took some getting used to, but this was a really fun entry!

Xyston is my son. There's lots of flashing, maybe consider adding a warning.

Developer

Ah, good idea ill, add a warning its. a weird bug with the web build that appeared last minute.

Submitted(+1)

I loved the game style, big pixels and colors. I defeated the boss but unfortunately he was inactive for the twenty last seconds so I just shooted the core without moving to win. But the concept is nice GG.
