Game's Take on the Theme
You move by spinning around a tower. Additionally, you also fight using a yoyo, so the theme's been applied twice technically :D
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes

Very good game, liked it all
I'm always impressed by the use of 3D illusion in 2D space in games, I'm really digging this!
What a great game! I loved everything—the boss design, the aesthetics, the use of the theme, and the music is absolutely amazing, 10/10. Except for the fact that the game crashed while I was fighting the third boss, right when it seemed like it was starting a different attack from the first two. I couldn’t finish it because of that, but I’ll definitely give it another shot later. Beautiful game!
Whoops haven't had anyone crash there yet I don't think! I'll try to get that fixed for a post-jam version. Thanks for letting me know and I'm glad you liked it!
This is the first game that got 5 stars in 5 out of the 6 categories. Just amazing. The spinning tower was jarring at first but got used to it pretty quickly. This heavily reminded of fez.
FULL STARS SPINNER
Seriously one of the best entries here, so technically impressive with the faux 3d spinning and the gameplay felt so good, my only wish is that there were combo attacks and more in depth boss movesets.
Thanks for playing! Combo attacks were actually something that I had planned initially for the game, but that unfortunately had to be cut due to time restrictions (i made both the art and the code by myself). Boss attacks are somewhat simple mainly because a lot of people were already struggling with the difficulty of the game, so I decided not to overcomplicate things for now.
I will say however that I'd like to add both things if I ever continue to develop this game after the jam, so thanks for the feedback!
I really liked the application of the “spin” theme. Extremely fun game. Congratulations on the game!
This is amongst the best ones I've played. Everything is smooth and polished, the animations are great, the art is cute, the controls are responsive and easy to learn, the theme is well executed. I haven't been able to beat the second boss yet, but from what I've seen, this game is 10/10, 5 star on everything.
So so good. Everything is fantastic. I love the bosses, the music, the animations, the spritework, everything. The perspective mechanic was so much fun to mess around with. Really well done. The music is incredible too
This is astounding. The bosses, the visuals, the soundtrack, the feeling... everything.
Incredible game. I can't even fathom the math-magical secrets that goes into the spinning
This game is unbelievably good. Amazing pixel art and very cute aesthetic. It looks like a SNES title, gameplay just feels tight. It could be expanded into something I would pay money for to play. Super professional!
Unbelievable! This perspective is insane, and brings a whole new dimension to 2d side-view boss battle gameplay. On top of that, the game looks great and is a lot of fun! In short, 5 stars on many points! Well done :D
Took me over 1000 seconds but I beat them all! The art and music in this game are wonderful, and each of the bosses have very different and interesting mechanics. The yoyo is a nice touch! I played using the controller and, this could be just me, there were a few instances when the yoyo wouldn't attack in the direction I was pressing. Still, I really enjoyed the game! Congrats on a game well made!
I've noticed that the controller thing seems to be something specific to only some users/controllers, but I still need to investigate what the reason for it might be... I'll try my best to get that fixed for a post-jam version! Glad you enjoyed it!
Really fun gameplay, I enjoyed playing and the tower spinning mechanic is super cool. The only thing that took some time getting used to is the controls as I am used to jumping with Z not attacking :D But great game and the art is fabulous!
Damn, the perspective concept is insanely cool, and the execution is top-notch!! I'm absolutely thrilled with everything here, especially the boss fights and the music. Amazing work!
Art style, gameplay, and sound design are great! The bosses were very balanced took me some time to study and get familiar with their attack patterns, the telegraph is good in that almost all of the damage I took was from my mistake except the bird fire bombs, I feel like their hitbox was too large as I was taking a decent distance from the distance when putting it out. Overall I enjoyed the time I've spent on it, and thank you for playing my game live on the Discord server!!![]()
Yeah... there seems to be a bug in which the fireball's collision gets really glitchy sometimes and starts freaking out about how large it should be whenever you hit it. I'll get that fixed right after the rating period. Thanks again for playing, your game was also pretty cool!
I absolutely adore this game, it is near-flawless. Sprites, music, boss design, character design, gameplay, it's so good! It feels like a love letter to Kirby and Sega games, the sound effects and music honestly reminded me of some Game Gear games. The combat is smooth and satisfying, and the game is incredibly challenging, but also incredibly fair at the same time. My only, and I mean only complaint is that the final bosses homing projectile is a little funky, sometimes hitting me when it's already faded away, but I simply changed my playstyle to stay as far away from that projectile as possible.
Please expand this into a full game, I would pay good money for it 10/10
Whoops yeah the homing projectile thing was an oversight on my end, it seems that it might be taking too long to disable the collision after it starts disappearing. Already fixed it for a post jam version.
The game was, in fact, very heavily inspired by that one tower level in kirby's adventure for the NES, so im glad it came through! Thank you so much for playing!
WOW! This game is really cool! LIKE A LOT! The tower spin is really well done and I like it a lot, it reminds me of kirby's tower levels, and it is really awesome and very well executed. Love the animations, the effects, the music, and overall, it's an awesome game! Don't know if someone already pointed it out, but the first boss can fall ontop of your head, lol! Other than that, the difficulty curve is perfect, you learn with each boss and I loved that the Yoyo gives you a height boost, the POGO feels SO AWESEOME TO DO!
Congrats! Great Work!
Ohh yeah no I did not realise that the first boss could fall on top of your head ^^'. I'll get that fixed as soon as I can. Thanks for playing!
