noticed you couldnt control yourself once your in the air, which is fine but did make it a bit clunky before getting the hang of it. but then the second jump was just undoable, not sure why but i couldnt progress past that.

Snake friend! I did like the snake buddies you find along the way as well as the little things they say and have you do, only thing was itch.io was laggy making it a bit tough to play, not the games fault though, and i think this lag is what allowed me to clip straight through walls, so im not gonna hold that against you either, but that is something i wanted to mention.
Very good game, could use more content to give it some depth, i do like that there is no combat which makes it unique but there wasnt a use for coins or anything, a little display or inventory just to see them wouldve been cool. but those are all extra things you could add later, as a concept i think it was fantastic! also little bug, when the game finished it wouldnt bring my cursor back needing me to alt + f4 to get out but thats okay.
Game worked really well besides the ladders and a bug i found. the ladders would just sometimes get stuck, if there was a platform above them you could sometimes not get through it, and it was generally hard to climb up them and you would just fall down sometimes. The bug was if you hit/killed and enemy while they were mid air (it was fine if you were in the air) it would just straight up crash and have a little popup bug report from html. but other than that which was very easy to avoid the game was very fun, engaging and good looking too.
Not sure if its just my end but it was so laggy i could not play it, with nearly 1 frame every 2 seconds, not exactly sure why. also the sensitivity of my mouse seemed to be so high that if i moved my mouse even a millimeter it would send me staring in the sky or ground and in random directions. i was able to move and throw the rocks and even kill a snake though so if it wernt for that it seemed like it was working well.
Maybe its something to do with it being through itch but it was extremely laggy for me to the point where it was basically unplayable, i just had to guess when to jump and move. also not being able to move the camera in some way or zoom out a little bit made it hard to jump around some of the obstacles
I dont know if it was just me but i really could not make the first jump like 70% of the time, the jumps were inconsistent and they literally could not reach the platform (like if i jumped in place you could see that i could not get the height possible). Im not sure why this is but it seems to be a bug because after refreshing it would sometimes work but only for the first life you get. I wasnt able to make it past the second platform because of this and it was very frustrating with the inconsistency
This game was fun but seemed a little unpolished, as the controls like attacking seemed to come out a little slow and there didnt seem to be any strategy with fighting the enemies just walk in and hit them because you cant really kite them backward or else you attack the wrong way and miss. not sure if it was intended but i couldnt go to the next level after beating the enemies that you have to activate the little stone things to fight, but if there was just no more content thats okay too, just a nice resolution to know that it was the end of the demo.
I like the idea that you are making decisions on a civilization, however i dont really understand how some of them fail so quickly with the choices. I feel like it would be a lot better had there been a reason behind these choices like if you chose to study education it would give you like a counter towards sophistication otherwise you had one towards barbaric culture, which then if you didnt lean into more your civilization would fall apart, kind of making it a balancing act of progression without letting your civ fall behind in any one aspect.
the game was fun although a little generic. It was a bit frustrating when you get pretty far but then die and have to restart from the beginning, definitely wouldn't mind some checkpoints. But if youre going for the idea of no checkpoints that works too as you can have multiple levels or something like a life system similar to a simple Mario game. that said the graphics and sound were really well done, same with the actual movement.
