Really good game with a cool concept, fanstatic job and congrats on finishing the jam :)
Very difficult when you have a lot of enemies, but at the same time very fun and challenging. I really liked the care you took with the interface, but I missed the impact feedback when hitting the enemies.
I can imagine the game being greatly improved, with several upgrades and powers for the player. Congratulations on the submission!
Real fun to play from the get go.
I like that you are thrown straight into the action, and i think you've had a good idea to do this sort of arena based combat each room as it fits well with the theme on top of the limited range area you put for the same intent.
The sprites look good and there's nice variety when it comes to the enemies, the lighting effects really add a lot to the mood of the game in general.
The music is nice but just feel the loop is a bit short so it can feel repetitive after a while.
Difficulty wise it can get a bit hectic when you come into a crowded room with lots of the snake and skeleton enemy types, but that said the challenge still feels fair especially since you can collect some hp upgrades to help out, however i wish there was a bit more to find when exploring the dungeon, with also maybe a bit more background variety to convey a bit more progression, like even a simple color change when you climb up a floor.
But these issues are really nothing much to be honest, the game has a good base already in place, is fun to play, and small details like the minimap are really nice to have here already.
Good job to you guys :)
Nice sprites, nicely working controls and overall, very polished and solid entry! The dash mechanic, being a regenerating one, worked nicely here. First I felt that it wasn't great that you could still take damage when dashing, but when I got used to the idea, it was actually quite nice. The confined thing was maybe a bit too confining, at least for me. Maybe if first the circle was quite small (like how it is now), but upon taking damage, the ring would grow larger, so it would become easier to play. That way taking damage wouldn't always be a bad thing and you could make longer runs, making the player feel amazing, surviving with only one HP for so long. Just an idea, though! Overall, I really liked this, would be cool to see where this goes if you continue to develop it.
We'd greatly appreciate if you had time to check out our submission as well! :)
Nicely done, the visuals are great, nice use of post processing and sprites.
The audio made me chuckle, sounded like i was killing cows or something :D
Love it! The story line itself is something that's so smart and good! This has all the things I value in bullet hells... great color distinctions between enemy and player, easy to find player (So he doesn't get lost in the projectiles you fixed this by adding that glow around him...), and just really fun! It's VERY polished and deserves first in this jam.
Wow, first might be a bit much, but I'm very happy you think it's that good! The story line was just a fun little idea I had so it's good to see that it worked out nicely. I always hate when the bullets and enemies are hard to see so I tried to give them as much distinction as possible, like some of my favourite bullet-hell games, as well as the radius for the player's range.
Interesting entry! It reminds me of binding of isaac, in a way. The visuals and audio are great and the game is very polished.
I'm thrilled you found it fun! Our main inspirations (or at least mine) were Gungeon and Nuclear throne for this, but I can definitely see how it looks like Isaac now that you mention it.
So good! This is excellent, the art, sound, and game play design are all so polished. Given it’s a game jam it would have been nice to have a checkpoint system for each floor so that when I died I didn’t have to start over since each level takes quite a bit of time. This is awesome, nice work!
Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
As for the checkpoint system, although something like that would definitely make the game more accessible, we were going for a more rogue-like approach, so it might seem a little out of place. I really appreciate the feedback though and do agree that the difficult curve is a little steep at times.
Love it!
cool idea, really fits the jam!
just overall a nice experience
I can't say how happy I am that so many people are enjoying this game, thank you so much for your support!
Really nice game, the polish was great. And I liked how you implemented the theme. Nice Job!
Thank you, I spent multiple full days polishing and re-polishing the visuals and I'm very happy with how it turned out!
