I think you did a nice job with it. Some small details are that I think it should be easier to go to fullscreen than with the settings, and that it never said anywhere on itch.io, page, or anywhere else to press E to interact with those valves. For some people they may never figure out either and consider the game "unplayable". Luckily, I figured those things out. Overall I think the game had nice atmosphere, visuals and mechanics, is quite relevant to the theme and you did a really great work on this submission!

Neat! I really like the water level mechanic. I struggled with the speed of the character, both with general moving and how quickly it would snap when the player was in the water. I also was never able to open a chest. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong but pressing E in front of them with the sword stowed wouldn't do anything. Otherwise, good fun and the music adds a nice level of atmosphere.
I liked the gameplay, at the part where you press 'E' to move the wheel I got confused because e was already the input for swinging the sword lol and you have to put the sword away before e can be used to turn the wheel I thin if you used a different input or mention that the sword has to be put away first it would be helpful.
I feel like Ninja Turtles and playing it does feel like spelunky a bit ... wish there was a fullscreen button
This is a pretty neat entry! I wouldn't have thought of combining ninjas and sewers for this jam. Very creative. And the art has a nice, cohesive aesthetic and the UI is very polished. I do agree, though, with several of the other developers that the visuals would benefit from greater clarity. And also like many of them, I experienced performance issues in the browser version. There's a few minor things I could bring up as well, but like the two things I've previously mentioned they've already been covered in other comments so I'll leave it at this. Overall, it's a great game with a lot of replayability due to its random generation
Couple of points here:
1 - the environment and the player kinda blend in. You can get used to it, but from the begining it is not that easy to see the ninja. Perhaps a simple outline of the main character would do the job, or play a little more with finding more matching palette
2 - the controls felt for some reason bit sharp, the character felt so fast that it was sometimes hard to navigate as I would like to. Perhaps you wanted that, but generally speaking in plarforming games I feel like better approach is to have smooth movement and hard platforming rather then having player deal with harder controls
All of this is just my point of view and a suggestion from another player. In fact I enjoyed your game and you did a really good job. I like the idea and all the sounds made a really good job here as well!
I really like how nicely character driven it is!
The way everything is animated. That rust vibe, I really like it, the visuals are fire.
It's very interesting to solve the level like a puzzle. Unfortunately above 14 could not rise above 14, I think my hands are too crooked + sometimes as if and laggy on this level began to interfere.
But in any case, it came out cool :)
The ninja controls very nicely and jumping around the level felt very easy to get a hang of. Art, animations, and sound are all great, they do a good job of selling the environment to the player. Unfortunately, I got stuck after 5 valves and had to kill myself because there was no platform I could reach to get up and no more valves on my level. As others have said, valves and chests are a bit hard to spot because of the colour scheme, but this would be a pretty easy fix. Overall very nicely made and a fun little game, nice work :)
challenging and fast! It`s really fun, but the items are too small to easy noticing , A slight adjustment can make it better.
I liked the controls, they felt good! Cool pixel art to. Nice Game!
Cute game! The mechanics are simple, the art and animations are nice (love the screen transitions), and the progression is balanced. Though, I wish the valves looked more emphasized so that they won’t blend in with the background because they were kind of hard to spot in my screen unless I really squint. Even then though, great job!
That was really cool! It was fun to bounce around, especially across water. I think platforms were spaced really well so that I rarely had to slow down or stop, and having the water not be an instant-death mechanic helped that out a lot. For the most part it felt 'safe' to just kind of explore. Dark mode was also really cool. For most of the regular game I had no idea what purpose the lightning bugs served other than just aesthetics, but they are super helpful in the dark. Definitely got trapped under more platforms during the dark mode lol. Also, shoutout to all the art, especially the scene transition which was a really nice touch.
I did think that the character moved just a little fast for me though, even if it was fun. It was hard to really get a look at the environment because it felt like I was flying 1000 mph, so lining up the valves to turn them could be a little annoying at times.
Great work on this!
This was such a unique and well-made idea. Unfortunately, I also experienced some performance issues, and they started when I got around 10 valves. Issues aside, the gameplay was very cool and destroying the shooting robots actually turned out to be one of my favorite things to do in the game, even though they were annoying at first. I would definitely love to see this game continue development after the jam!
Great concept and art! I like the greenish rusty copper effects on the UI and transitions. I think the performance issues others are reporting have something to do with the fullscreen option when playing in browser, since the movement stuttered constantly until I turned fullscreen off. In windowed mode the game worked great! Nice job!
