So much fun, i tried to reach a point where no buffs were left, but i didnt manage to do so haha, anyways, i enjoyed your game.

Developer

It's difficult enough to get to that point :)

Thank you very much for playing and glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Fun! I like the direction you went with the theme! Sounds would be nice but overall very nice game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Really appreciate the kind words.

Sound effects will definitely be added in a future update :)

This was fun! A great interpretation of the jam's theme, smooth controls, good graphics and music. Sound effects would have been a welcome addition to the game, but that still does not detract from this well-developed, well-executed game. This is a very good entry to the jam.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Really glad to hear you enjoyed it :)

Really well done all around. The pacing and diffculty increase is smooth and there's tactical choiche to be made. Some sound on enemy hit could be cool and the ending /Spoiler I wish I could have keep the hand or having a different thing having resisted the surrender at first. Small details this has been real nice to play!

Developer

I had actually considered having the option to refuse surrendering at the end with the idea of tying it a boss fight to wrap things up.

Will see if I get a burst of motivation to revisit that idea for the post-jam update :)

Thank you for your comments and glad you enjoyed!

Thank you so much!

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I wouldn't have minded a keyboard firing method, even if it was only cardinal directions. But everything else was great!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I hadn't actually considered keyboard controls for the shooting.  I'll have to look into that and see how it feels.

Thank you for the feedback!

Very neat, fits the theme really well.

The one thing I felt like missed the most was sound effects.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :)

Definitely looking at getting sound effects added once the voting period is over.

Very cool concept and it feels really nice to play! Of course you feel worse and worse as the game goes on but you managed to balance it out really well. Cool use of mechanics and themes and its a very pretty game!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Happy to hear the positive comments about the balance.  There was some very last minute tweaking and finger crossing before the deadline. :)

Addictive, I love how the difficulty of the game increases based on your abilities. Incredibly awesome game design idea that matches with the theme in both the story and gameplay. Loved the fact that the enemies you start with become a bit more of a threat towards the end as well as the chilling story. Very smart, and I enjoyed it. You also kept it all in one level, and it was challenging as you continue to lose pieces. The ultimate winner of this game though is the Dreadhand. You definitely have a follower from me!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

Really glad to hear you enjoyed it :)

The DreadHand always wins.

Its a fun little game! I suck so much haha, but made it to level 1! Good idea to count down and not up :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Congrats on reaching level 1! I struggle getting that far myself at times :)

Thank you so much for playing!

Absolutely AWESOME! It felt super fun to play and the music was great. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! Much appreciated :)

Great stuff! The art looks awesome and this is one of the juiciest games I've played in this jam and that's something I always look for. It feels like it's lacking some sound effects though but I also think too much SFX would detract from the music and atmosphere so maybe it's fine as is. One thing I'm more certain of is the camera shake is a tad excessive. It doesn't bother me personally but I know some will find it uncomfortable since I've gotten complaints about my excessive camera shake in a past project.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words.  Glad to hear the time spent juicing it up was worth it.

I'll will definitely get some sound effects added for the post-jam, but you are correct that I wouldn't want them to be too overwhelming or suffocate the music.

Will do some tinkering over the next few days to find the right balance :)

Awesome take on the jam's theme!
Great work! The art is super cool, and I especially like the color combination and the music.

Glad you liked it!

Thanks for playing :)

This is really well done! The writing is awesome and I'm definitely a little jealous of a bunch of the details you implemented that I never even considered (enemy variations, telegraphing spawn points, death animations).

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Glad you enjoyed those little extra details.  :)

Super awesome color palette and the game play feels really good. I was so close to making it to level 1, but alas I lost everything. Super fun great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I love the color scheme so much! The font is also so so good and works incredibly well, is it custom made? At the beginning when you shoot a lot the screen shake makes it a bit hard to see, but as you lose the fire rate the problem is no longer present and the game becomes really challenging but not unfair. The esthetic is really cohesive too! Awesome submission man!

Developer

The font is from this pack by the super talented Not Jam.

Thank you for the kind words and feedback!

of course! Thank you so much for sharing! (The game and the pack lol)

Interesting match of colours and gameplay feels funny.

Think the camera shake a little bit huge, but anyway its a great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I'll take a look at tweaking camera shake post-jam :)

I love the music, thank you Not Jam!
I think the graphics look terrific, and I especially like the pentagram 'beam-down' animation which is metal AF!
I'm desperate to hear sound effects here. I think this has legs as a full game, and hopefully in future versions I hear some.

You rock keep up the good work!

Love the take on the theme, the colour scheme and artwork. Fabulous submission.

This is a very interesting take on the bullet haven genre. I really like the whole idea. It's just that during the game it happened to me quite often that I clicked quickly and then clicked off some option by mistake. Would like to give a longer time non-clickable selections after display.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yea, I noticed that issue during development and never got around to fixing. It's top of my list for bugs to tackle as I know it can be frustrating when you make a selection without realising.

Appreciate the feedback :)
