You did a great job creating tension, the part where the elevator stops was well thought!
It's scary to the extent no one knows what'll happen next. Those creepy audio make it even scarier!
Good concept and the music makes it more scary. Good job!
Fraaaak man, I cannot do scary games that often! Managed to do it though. Did a great job with the atmosphere.
It was very scary ! The puzzles are good !
Very impressed by the work you managed in a week. Will admit got scared. Good work!
I got scared :) The puzzles are good, but I think you guys need to improve the lighting mechanics.
What in particular do you think needs fixing for lighting? This was a solo project, so I didn't have much time to tweak it perfectly, but I still thought it was responsive and clear? Asking for improvement purposes :)
As far as I can see, when light hits an object, light appears only on that object, and furthermore, when the mouse is held at the center of the character, a bug occurs.
It's scary, I like it a lot, and the puzzles to open the doors are a really cool must
I always had trouble with scary games, but I still gave it a go! Very...yeah, anguish-like game I guess aha
Good idea to have an option with CP and no monsters, good ideas also on the controls and the concept. Congrats on the game!
Ya got me! Verry eerie audio design. Those puzzles are awesome! Love the option to have a safe monster free experience and the option to have or not have checkpoints. I don't know that I really have any critiques. Nice work!
Thanks! I'm glad you appreciated the checkpoint and no monster features in particular, they weren't there for the longest while but I figured that they should for accessibility reasons. That way you still get to see the whole game, even if you aren't particularly good at it. I appreciate the kind words!
That's thinkin ahead partner!
Nice atmospheric music, you dont see much, its mysterious, very nice design! :)
It was very scary so stop to play with it. :) The atmospheer is very good but the horror and/or thriller game types are very far away from me. Anyway, you did a great job here!!
Really good work, the atmosphere is really successful! The puzzles require thinking and we are always stressed by monsters! Just little thing, I find the character a little slow.
nope nope nope nope nope
Perfect. Exactly the reaction i wanted :)
PHENOMENAL attention to audio in this, probably the best I've seen thus far. I love how tension is handled in this game, especially on ladders. Really, really great job.
Movement is a bit slow for me. Gives me headaches when im too slow in games. However. It was super creepy. Super tense. Good job on succeeding with that!
Thanks! The slow movement was on purpose; originally it was faster. What I didn't want you to be able to do is outrun the monster; you have to fight back.
It also makes the final chase sequence much more tense (if you got to that part!)
Thanks for the comment!
On my first attempt I got caught by the monster pretty quick lol but on the second one I was able to get much further
The puzzles require you to think but are still reasonable and intuitive to figure out. Having to keep an eye out to avoid being caught adds to the experience.
I really liked this! The puzzles were all really intuitive yet fun to do. I think you did a magnificent job making this! Congratulations!
Just played it and it was surprisingly a blast.
The assets might not be the best but I enjoyed the puzzles. The sounds are the best part imo, you managed to create a fantastic atmosphere, tense and scary at the same time. Nice job!
I haven't done 1-bit art before so I agree that the art was rough at times. I figured that keeping it simple was the way to go for a project like this.
I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay though! As you could tell by the length at which I can describe the behaviour of the A.I, it was definitely the top priority.
I really hate horror games, and I really hate this game. Keep it up!
p.s. maybe try making the flashlight slightly illuminate the air? it might take away from the unknown factor but I feel like adding that would make the game more readable. idk.
Thanks! Glad to know its doing its job, lol.
As for the flashlight illuminating the air, I actually originally had it doing that but I found it did take away from the unknown factor, and made to game too readable to the extent that spotting the monster became less of a startle. A good suggestion though, and much appreciated!
