Great looking game. A tremendous amount of interactions make the world very immersive. Solid story too!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback. :)

Well, I sure didn't expect it to turn out this way :P note to self, don't play with headphones anymore.

Great art, interesting puzzles. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I can imagine with headphones that you got quite a shock when you completed the first room.

TBH, If I were Betty I wouldn't have stuck around after being served that wine either ;)

The background art in particular really stood out to me in this one, and I liked how many things there were to pick up and use. Very nice!

Developer(+1)

Haha, it is one of those "Don't try this at home" recipes :-P Thank you for playing!

Looks like itch doesn't have spoiler tags, so let's hope people only read comments after playing, because there will be SPOILERS AHEAD.

That first jumpscare caught me off guard! Until then, I thought I was playing a very slick-looking and comfy casual game, but after completing the first set of chores, I lowered the volume and started considering windowed mode :). I thought the combination of the innocent-looking exterior and the increasing creepiness worked very well, especially with the music becoming more ominous.

Gameplay-wise, there is A LOT of pointing and clicking to do - so many items, so many hotspots, so many steps to all those puzzles! If I didn't know better, I might complain about using the wrong item on a hotspot giving no reaction, but I've been there myself - there are more important things to do when you're on a two-week deadline than write random responses :).

Oh, and the art is great of course - very polished and professional, one of the best looking games in the jam for sure.

Great job overall, really enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing, I hope you didn’t jump to high! You are right we gave the player a lot of pointing and clicking to do. The reality is that 2 weeks really isn’t enough time to deliver a game of this size in a perfect way, every part is like a plate spinning on a stick, we tried to keep as many of the plates going, but in the end you can only manage so much, the responses to trying wrong combinations was one of those plates that unfortunately fell, but we will address that in a future update.

Of course! I really, really understand :). It wasn't meant as serious criticism, I was being cheeky because my previous jam games (and even this year's one to a smaller extent) had exactly the same problem. And the fact it has a lot of pointing and clicking is a big positive, in case that wasn't clear.

This was so good! It reminded me of a very dark Scooby Doo with the art style. Really enjoyed the puzzles too, took me longer than I'd like to admit to beat some of them, but a perfect level of thought required. The ending was a great twist, did not see it playing out like that!

Developer(+2)

It must be Frank's hairstyle, I was going for something Shaggy, lol! And we have Polytely to thank for the Zoinks! ending! Thanks so much for playing!

Developer

Thank you for playing.

A strange Christmas. What you need!

I really liked the presentation of the plot. Visualization is at a height, it supports the game flow. The music changes as you progress - it's cool. The scary inserts intrigued me when I was about to turn off the game.

Why did you insert screenshots from "Shining" into the paintings in the bedroom?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and comment! Game contains a couple "hellos" to famous horror movies, partly a homage to stories that inspired our writer Polytely, partly to give a heads up to players, so they don't get too comfy playing the game :-)

Submitted(+3)

I nearly jumped out of my skin the moment I got the first room complete.

This is incredibly well done!! Good gameplay, good overall story telling. I'm impressed you got some good voice acting done for the game too! Well done.

Developer

Thank you for playing, it's also the music and sound effects that help with the jump scares, which is the work of Javier Ventosa.  You are so right about the voice acting, Paul Thomas did a fantastic job with little to no direction.

amazing game, love the story, music and artwork. perfect job well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!

Wow!
This is the game I liked to submitted by myself!

It's so perfect in so many ways!

I've laughed so often. There are so many little jokes and above all a humour about the player, the character and a few adventure game cliches.
Very nice, thank you!

BUT the journey my feelings made while playing it, is very confusing...

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing and comment! Hope you didn't find the ending too disturbing, it is the job of storytellers to sometimes surprise you and give you pause.

Nice! Ton of items to play with and combine a good in game to-do checklist. Great job for 2 weeks. A lot of content. Only suggestion is something like: I missed a couple of items because I didn’t check every single drawer. It looked like a group of 3 could be just 1 hotspot (no separation between them etc). Maybe naming them Drawer 1, 2, 3 etc or something or a gap in the hotspots?

Well done little holiday story filled with romance and joy! Enjoyed it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and suggestions, will try to convince polytely to take it easy on the players! :-D

Developer

Thank you for playing, If we had more time we could have had fewer items in drawers and cupboards and more on display around the scene. Hopefully in the next update we can do something.

Submitted(+2)

Wow! was not expecting that tone at all, but I enjoyed it (a lot).

Great atmosphere, visuals, and good music and voice acting. I had to played twice because of a bug: I put the radio player in the bathhub before plugin in the extension, and after doing so, I couldn't plug-in the thing.

Liked the ending, although after had seeing all those weird scenes it was kind of predictable.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing, happy you enjoyed our game! And thanks for the bug report, will check this out!

Submitted(+3)

Ok - I've had to play it a second time (the first one I didn't get some actions so I couldn't finish it) but this is one of my favorite games so far .-) - a really great game, with graphics, voice acting and a chilling story hidden behind a lot of comedy situation. Congratulations

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for your kind comment, glad you enjoyed it!

What a pretty game! Loved the art in this. The plot was not at all what I was expecting! I thought this would be a cute rom-com XD

Developer(+1)

Thank you for streaming our game! :-) Ah, yes, gotta have a twist or two to keep people on their toes :-)

The character's voice is very cool, it gives a great immersion in the game, and the sound design work is excellent. I confess that I got lost in the game. It's a masterpiece.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! We were very lucky to have Paul Thomas borrow his voice to Frankie and Javier Ventosa for Sound & Music!

I thought this game was very cool overall. The art was gorgeous and the voice acting added a lot of charm. The snowy cottage setting was great to play around in. Very immersive. Without spoiling anything, I thought the scares were done very well too!
I personally don't typically enjoy games with the themes presented here. I find that it's difficult to incorporate these elements into a horror story respectfully and tastefully. But that's totally a matter of personal preference. I can say, even regardless of that preference, that this game was very well made. Really nice work and congrats to your team!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and comment!

And I agree about the sensitivity of the subject, hopefully players don't find it too upsetting, we did our best to represent it respectfully.

Submitted(+3)

Was so curious how this would end that I finished it all in one go. Got stuck a few times until I figured out that every drawer and every cupboard door can be clicked separately.  Great job.

Developer(+1)

Hah, yes, this is a game for compulsive clickers, there is a "spacebar reveals hotspots" feature, but I think it doesn't work on web version of the game. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+3)

I haven't finished it, but I will continue later. So many games to play in Adventure Jam 2022! lol But it's really a great game, with a solid team. Art, programming, audio and story, they all look almost professional for a 2-weeks game. Congrats!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for taking the time to play! This is an amazing jam indeed!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words. I think I can speak for the whole team, (by the way,  we didn't know each other two weeks ago.) that we all put a lot of effort and even more hours of work to deliver this game in two weeks. It's really amazing that people can come together and create anything in such a short space of time. I am really proud of what we achieved.

Submitted(+3)

That's the spirit of game jams :) Congrats again, to the whole team!

A super impressive achievement! This is the best-drawn art I've seen in this jam, and I'm astounded how much of it you were able to make. Frankie has a breezy, enjoyable voice, and the voice acting is great. The spooky bits were super startling and well executed. And just the length and completeness is impressive for a 2-week jam.

My only issue is just that it's a little too long for a straight play-though (I say while posting this at 1 am). But I know you're planning on adding a Save feature after the jam, so that will solve that.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes, save system is definitely planned.

Developer

The art is what makes this game for me, I can't praise Dani enough for her work in the scenes and character design.

Submitted(+3)

Wow, that was a great game! Wonderful graphics (how did you manage to do so many rooms in two weeks? So impressive) and an intriguing story. I guess there are even multiple endings. I only played once, there a too many entries and so little time without being able to go back to a savegame (which is  absolutely understandable for a jam game).
And - as always - an absolute pleasure to hear Paul Thomas bringing a character to life.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for your kind comment! There are definitely plans to fix some bugs and implement a save system after the jam.

Developer

Thank you, It was a lot of long days and I credit having everyone in the team really working in the same direction, we drove each other on and supported each other's ideas.

The save game system will defiantly feature is the update.
