we made a fun arcade game "a la mode"-- fight off the ice-cream-mad townspeople with your ice cream cannon!

Excellent entry! The sound design fit the artwork perfectly, and the game was straight up fun to play. I gasped when the people came up onto the roof after me lol. But 512 bucks is 512 bucks! Really great job.
Thanks so much! I had so much fun making assets for this, so I'm glad you enjoyed them. My favorite sound might be the splat, made by slapping a wet sponge.
I think your implementation of the music and pixel art style was done very well, it is a charming game and controls pretty well. I like how you implemented the tell for a manhole cover being ready to give you a boost, well done

yeah I think if I do some code cleanup + optimization a web version would be possible. it was too laggy when loading stuff so I went with download only for this version
Funny, fun gameplay, and clean graphics. I've been hooked on the art since seeing it on the discord, and now that I can play it, I love it even more. Brings me back to the games I would sneak off to play in the computer lab at school in the best possible way :')
This game is delightful! I was glad to see you guys go with the "a la mode" theme, I thought of maybe going that route at first too but couldn't think of a great idea like an ice cream truck serving up hostile crowds, that's brilliant.
The graphics, sound, and gameplay mesh together perfectly. I would love to see more games in this graphical style. I think this entire game would work amazingly as a mode inside a wacky Sims or GTA style game, as a career path/way to earn extra cash.
I didn't notice that the ice cream cone on the truck rotated like a turret until I had already been playing for awhile, that was one of the moments of discovery that made this game delightful in addition to the lederhosen guys and jumping onto roofs. Awesome work!
The breakable environment and the effects look fanstastic! The different kinds of citizens are really well designed and work nicely together. The performance suffers a bit with so many citizens and they sometimes seem to be running over houses too. The game has style and knows what it wants to be. Awesome job!
the running up houses is intentional they're so out of control they'll do anything to get their ice cream fix. but it does lack finesse I kinda stuck a placeholder system in there and never updated it. The performance is something I'd love to improve in a final version unfortunately all my time was spend just getting it finished in time haha. thanks for checking it out!

Fun! The game benefits a lot from using a controller. Getting chain reaction explosions from the big guys was especially satisfying. Nice work!
Really fun and charming. I like how you really doubled down on the ice cream lovers being zombies and even made all the special enemies have traditional zombie special abilities too.
My best score was $740. At a certain point the game slows to a crawl if you let too many guys be on screen at once.
$740 is great, nice job. Yeah the game needs some optimization, didn't manage to get that in haha
Great style and super satisfying animations and particle effects, gives a sort of zombie game vibe, where I want to create a trail of enemies behind me to stop them from overwhelming me. Unfortunately I have a bad laptop (mobile cpu, integrated graphics), so after a few mins the game would be unplayable with lag. Nevertheless I can see the charm. I really like the low resolution/visible pixels 3D look. The twin stick shooter controls were a lot of fun to use. Awesome job!

I loved the aesthetics of this game, from the graphics to the sound design. The presentation was great, and I had a ton of fun playing it. My high score was 152 dollars!

Pretty fun game, I like the graphics and the humor. It started to lag a few minutes in but other than that I enjoyed it!
