The start was brutal, but then it too easy too fast....
Not sure how you can balance that better, but I still enjoyed it!

How does your game represent "Power"?
The obvious interpretation is that the player is bestowed powers by the gods which helps them grow stronger. And with each unlock, their powers are raised to powers in the mathematical sense

Brutal start to the game! You should have the first few level 1 mobs on the way to the desert have like 2-3 health.
This game at first I didn't understand, then I got hooked literally for hours, as it becomes a send guy on a deathly mission, come back to get the spoils and repeat. Pretty solid game!
Extremely unique game. I was a bit confused on the controls and the gameplay but once I figured it out it was pretty fun! Great job!
It's a very unique game, I had to mash my keyboard to discover the controls but apart from that, it's very well presented!
I got it in 37 runs, and 59 minutes. Really enjoyable game! I could see this expanded into a full-fledged experience that just gets more expansive into a much larger world. This auto RPG type gameplay reminds me of a game I've been playing recently called "Stone Story RPG." You also go through a world while collecting items and getting stronger. There are more mechanics in that game which I think could easily be applied to your game if it were to be expanded after the jam. I highly recommend checking it out. But your game was such a nice "short-form" version of that experience. Even though there wasn't much gameplay, something about just seeing my character get stronger always pulls me in when I play games. I would recommend that while you get stronger you should change the sprite of your character on the left side of the screen to look stronger (maybe give him armor or have him holding a better weapon). You have the gameplay loop of fighting, looking for items, dying, and getting stronger to expand into the world down perfectly that kept making me want to continue playing right away. But in the long form, this is such a cozy game I could see myself returning to each day for an hour and getting stronger (very similar to how I've been playing the game I mentioned earlier "Stone Story RPG"). With some more mechanics, and a more polished art style (not saying your art is bad, it's nice and retro) this game would be such a blast. Please consider continuing to work on it after the jam ends!
33 runs, what a unique game :)
Love how you keep exploring idle-map game ideas. Achievements as progression per run is something I haven't seen before. At first I thought it was just a matter of grinding out the first nodes back and forth, but once I realized the upgrades all multiplied off each other, some strategy formed where I tried to push for as much breadth of upgrades as possible. Obviously since there was no time pressure you didn't actually need to optimize, but there's still an interesting design nugget there.
What's cool is that there's a ton of directions to take the game in. Not all jam games show that kind of potential. Simply adding a variety of achievements will get the players to figure out unusual routes to get the upgrades they need. A bit of route puzzle solving basically.
Great entry!
like others have said the beginning is pretty confusing and slow, but its a very cute idea! i love the presentation alot
I was humiliated by a chicken, and it hurts.
Clever game ideia, a pretty ambitious one for such a short time period. Congrats for the solid game.
I got ganked by a chicken, and then I became the chicken ganker. But unfortunately, this game just isn't my kinda game. The only critique I can give that isn't personal taste is that I was very confused at the start. What's my goal? How do I move? Why is that chicken so strong? Lot's of questions, and I didn't even realise that it was a die but get stronger game for quite a while. I can tell a lot of hard work went into this though, the music and art is great, and the overall polish is great. Good job!
Now that's an idle game or a roguelite? Both? I don't know and I only care that I really liked it, very well executed! Great job!

The beginning is a bit too slow, but I like the world map, it reminds me of those old mats with cartoon city roads on them. I feel like the idea is easily expandable!
