really fun idea. the game loop is solid as heck. with some more polish on presentation, you have got a solid streamer game going on.

Submitted(+1)

Really like that game! It feels like one of those challenging games streamers play, I got a highscore of 10 and missed miserably, but really fun idea!

Submitted(+1)

This game is really challenging. Felt like Jump King but in 3D

Submitted(+1)

Very challenging, cool to see what can be done with such a simple idea.

Good job!

Submitted(+1)

I felt challenged. Great atmosphere and twist on the theme.

Submitted(+1)

Cool game!! I got 5, I'm not very good at this lol. I like the calm surreal vibe going on

Super addicting, and that first experience of doing a full charged jump on my first attempt was hilarious. Very addicting gameplay loop. simple but great fun. I am keeping this one on my computer so I can beat my high score of 6 lmao

Developer

Thank you! There is a seat waiting for you in the double digit club. I definitely listen to the "doongs" more than I look at the charge bar to help judge how far I am gonna go.

Pretty fun, but I fear reaching the high score requires losing a piece of yourself in the process, lol. I think the platform could use stylized textures instead but I'm not sure if the game is going for cartoony or realistic assets. Also not a critique but I think you could easily rework this as a web game using only keyboard controls [mouse requires locking the cursor] if you wanted, that way more people can try to reach the high score.

this shit is so hard bro i could hardly play jump king 2d but 3d is the end of me, my record is 5 im terrible at this game, that being said it is satisfying

Developer

haha you're a legend for pushing  through. Ironically I never got very far through Jump King either lol. Thanks for playing and commenting!

Submitted(+1)

I can't stress enough how much I love that promotional picture. It's 3D Jump King and I say that as a high praise, it you had visible Jordans I'd say this was the best game in the jam.

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you so much! Visible Jordans are a fantastic idea. There should just be a pair waiting for you at platform 100. You earned them.

The feeling of perfectly calculating a jump, and just barely cresting the next platform is euphoric. I've seen some others making comparisons to Jump King. Makes me think it might be cool to play a game with this character controller in a prebuilt world. Ascending a giant castle or something.

Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That's exactly the feeling I was hoping for.  I would definitely like to make something like a 3d Jump King! I have a few ideas to push this game a bit further, but it's also given me another similar idea about parkouring through a castle-type thing that I want to have a go with. Thanks again for playing and the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea for a game, would've been cool if there were more obstacles or conditions that would add more to the game, but the amount of times I overshoot the jumps was enough of punishment.
It's a neat game and I hope to see this be expanded upon in the future, good work! :)

Developer(+1)

There are definitely some things I want to do to give it more variety. I did have smaller and moving platforms at one point, but I took them out because it was hard to tell if smaller platforms were small or just far regular platforms haha.  Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Got to 10!!!

Played for like an hour so here's some criticisms to justify that:
Kinda wish there was slight air control. Overshooting by just the tiniest bit is incredibly frustrating
The player should immediately spawn on the first platform, the several second fall is annoying

Other than that amazing game

Submitted(+1)

I agree with these points. The air control could also be determined before the jump happens (like setting the spin amount in a pool game).

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the comment and feedback! Welcome to the double digit club.
There is definitely slight air control at the moment, but I might have gotten a little too close to the game during development and set too little. I kept stripping more and more air control away like "nah, this is too easy" as if everyone playing has been developing this game for a week.
Totally agree on the respawning. I thought it was more dramatic this way but now I wish it was faster.

This man only does leg day. Very fun concept! It's hard to know how far I'll jump, but with some feedback this can be smth cool! Like JumpKing but 3D

Developer(+1)

Jump King was definitely on my mind making this. I'd like to make falling more interesting and dramatic like in Jump King with maybe some potential for catching on a landmark of some sort. Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

The concept of the game is very cool made, I liked the system of choosing the strength of the character’s toss, although you think that you can clamp a little bit and let go, but it does not always work, where you need to hold longer than usual, where those less. Graphics did not catch on (which is not important), but the idea is great, very well fits to the theme!

Developer

I definitely have a lot to learn about 3D graphics haha, I tried to keep it minimalistic so I didn't have to texture/model too much. Thanks a lot for playing and your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Raging while rains sounds to relax and sleep played felt like I was getting gaslit. I think having multiple platforms spawn in at a time and a faster power loadup could take this idea far!

Developer(+1)

That's not how it happened, you felt like the sounds and gameplay perfectly intertwined ;). Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Spa day + Leg day,  what  a combo! A perfect example of tying power right into the gameplay. I would love mouse sensitivity options, but I'm probably just salty that I accidentally spun around and walked off the edge out of excitement after getting my high score (10). I also laughed out loud at the visuals/audio when you max out the power bar. Great job!

Developer

Hahaha you deserve a spa day on leg day. I laughed at the visual of you celebrating off the edge. I will definitely consider adding some options like that post jam. Gratz on the score and thanks for playing and commenting!

Really like how the difficult gameplay and cozy vibes are so opposite but still coalesce to a surprisingly chill experience

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

If this was an English class and my teacher pointed at me to explain the contrast because I made too much or too little eye contact, I would call it juxtaposition while being unable to explain the intended effect. It wasn't exactly planned, but it just sort of worked and I think the atmosphere helped to offset the frustration of the gameplay. Finding zen through punishment, monk-esque, if you will. Thank you for playing and commenting!

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed this. I agree with the other comment about it being relaxing - I think the challenge and skill aspect is achievable and not frustrating. I only managed 8 levels, but each one felt good to land!

Developer

I was hoping each jump feel like a relief to land so this great to hear. Thank you for playing and your comment!

Submitted(+1)

This was pretty cool. It was difficult trying to guess how much power was required, but it pushed me to try and keep getting better. The atmosphere was nice with the soft music, rain and wind

Developer

Thank you! I hoped the gentle atmosphere might help to contrast the intrinsic frustration of falling over and over again. It's definitely difficult, I have a few ideas around this concept that I would like to try post-jam to shift it in a slightly less sadistic direction. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!
