A very creative approach of the jam's theme i gotta say, the game's feeling is great, gets frustrating sometimes(as metroidvanias does normally), but that makes the feeling when you actually finsihes the game more satisfying, a great short game.

Developer

glad u liked it!

I like the old style graphics and music. The gameplay was challenging, which is a good things. The controls did feel a little loose, but overall a nice job on this one.

Developer

thanks!

Had fun playing this game, it is simple and minimalistic.

I think you already knew a bug with jumping, but only thing that really bothered me is backtracking.  You should try to create levels a bit bigger)

Developer

first of all thanks! second of all i dont think i know the bug, tell me and the third of all is that the back tracking is the part of the metroid vania style i was trying to make so yea

Good take on the theme and metroidvania design in general! I liked it a lot!

a nice little platformer that fits the theme really well!

The art was clear for the most part, but the text was incredibly difficult for me to read 🤔

The sound effects were good, if a little basic and a tad repetitive.

I loved the feeling of the character controller, though, it was really well implemented. The theme application is pretty much perfect, too, and the level design around that mechanic is wonderful. Overall it's a good entry, well done!

Developer

ty! i really dont know how to make the font better readable

A real tight platformer that moves fast but matches well with the aesthetic-and thanks to the coyote time you mentioned adding later on doesn't feel punishing, wrapped in a kind of light metroidvania package too but in a simple engaging fashion. Brings the theme together well.

- My favorite part was the progression of feeling more free as you dropped off each package with your movement-but it didn't start at a bad place to achieve that, it just got nicer, and gave a bit of a natural difficulty curve to it all too.
I really like the idea that this character needs to work out how to deliver the letters each day so they can actually get to everyone in the area.
I didn't manage to get too far in the hard mode because of my lack of platforming skills, but had a lot of fun completing the regular game and got a laugh out of the finish screen, gave a real nice cap to the play session with it.
I appreciate that death just sent you back to the start and you didn't lose the mail you'd delivered.
The sound/music compliment the art real well and it's nice to look at.

- There could have been more impact visually when delivering a mail so it was more satisfying and recognizable that you'd achieved something.

Developer(+1)

thanks for aaaaaaaall of this feedback dood! yea i could have added maybe some particles to the dropping of the packages but i dont know how to do that yet in godot

Submitted(+1)

No worries at all :) !
Well whenever you plan to start learning particles you'll have the perfect project to test it in first :D . If you're playing with particles you could also add a bit of dust when you land, where there's more at the start and less at the end as an extra nod to you being lighter, though not necessary for the core experience.

This so simple yet elegant and wonderfully executed! The only quarrel I have is I didn't like how your jump height changed depending on how fast you were moving, but otherwise splendid work!

Developer

ty! but........ its the other way... i made it so its less packages is more jump height and then i added that you get faster when you drop them because people said that the player felt slow so you're just critisizing the main mechanic of the game xD

Submitted(+1)

I definitely like how you move faster and jump higher when you lose packages. It's a wonderful game mechanic! Just there seems to be a tiny difference in jump height depending on if you're jumping from a standstill or not, but it's a honestly a really small thing.

Developer

oh yea xD thats a bug i dont know how to fix

Fun quick little game :)

Developer

ty! glad u liked it!
