Game's Take on the Theme
A twist on the usual frankenstein dynamic. Characters do a lot of spinning around
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?

I really like the visuals and the game mechanics overal, the customization initially is a nice touch, also all the animations are really fluent, in combat I find it hard but maybe its just me. I rate graphics, fun, control and music on top but all is cool, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
Art is amazing and like the concept.
Had a hard time grasping the controls but the art is good and the levels were really cool.
The vibe of this game is really good, I loved the music and the sound effects, not to mention the art. It's fun and a very complete game, good work!
Wow. This entry has a lot of character. It is obvious to see that there was a thorough design process.
The pixel art is detailed, the characters feel alive, there is a comedic script, and even a bonus level at the end. Truly a wonderful experience and a great entry!
One critique I have is that the upgrades don't feel impactful enough. Maybe the sand in eyes trick helps a little bit I got by just fine without using any active abilities. Same goes for Adam's upgrades, the extra health just means the fight lasts a bit longer because he has to do more attacks.
yeah, unfortunately a lot of the upgrades were a bit shallow, I would have liked to make more like the slam attack upgrade, that change the core loop a little more. Thanks for the review :)
Wow, nice game! This one really got the charm! The dialogues are funny, the characters have personality, and the entire premise is hilarious. The models are really well made and the gimmick of the game of being able to choose upgrades for both you and the boss is an interesting and novel factor. The arena gimmicks are also a great addition.
I admit tho, that I couldn't really play it at full potential, maybe because I don't have a controller, but I don't know, I think I found the arenas a bit too small, and sometimes its gimmick made the fight too easy or too hard. I had the train run over the monser 3 times in a row (or at least I think it was the train that damaged him, either that or Viktor became a superhuman for those 3 hits, I think feedback for damage could be improved because sometimes it blends with all the other effects).
Overall, a nice funny game, rich in personality and with a great artstyle, but may still need some polish. Hope this review can be useful! :D
Thanks for the in-depth review, its very solid feedback :)
It definitely needs a bit of polish, I didn't do a great job of planning my time so there were a lot of last minute additions.
Agree on the SFX/damage feedback and Adam being hit by stage damage is too luck based - he should really be a bit better at avoiding stage damage, and Victor should have more ways to corale him.
Really neat idea and the aesthetics are very nice. Will admit the controls and general playstyle were a bit hard to grasp, but I enjoyed the time I spent with it and the characters are quite nice.
There's definitely a lot of room to improve with the tutorial/controls, I think some acceleration might have made it a bit less jumpy. Glad you liked the characters :) did you get to meet Frankenstein's Lab?
Interesting. Good graphic and design. I am exciting about the story as well.
thanks :) I had a lot of fun making a little bit of story for the game
The game was really well made visually and the Boss was interesting with the screws for its life I liked that take.
thanks! I was worried the screws would be a bit unintuitive, but I was too pleased with the animation to replace them :)
I didn't quite get how the game was supposed to be played so I just took vampire clogs as many times as I could and then just started jumping/spinning around adam until I got to round 3. Adam's running made me laugh and I agree with the other about the style being good.
stacking vampire clogs upgrades is a smart idea, I usually just spam throwing sand in poor Adams eyes...![](https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzE5NzE2OTc4LmdpZg==/original/TkspZR.gif)
Adam's running was almost a lot sillier too :) initially he was going to swing his arms around like this:
I really liked it! Itβs awesome how the same boss is reused, but the player gets to choose their own difficulty modifiers. Also, I have to say, the abilities feel well-balanced for both the doctor and Frankenstein.
The visuals and music are great — Iβll definitely remember this mix of pixel art and PS1-style graphics for the future! :)
Godot's viewport texture makes it really easy :) I didn't have to render anything and using a 3d model made it really easy to visually add/remove upgrades and do animations that could point in any direction - I would have really struggled to make it with 2D animations
I really like the ps1 style graphics. The cyborg augmentation thing is cool too.
thanks :) that means a lot from the 3D artist for Fox Maverick, your game had great visuals!
Fun game, I like the humor, and the character designs are cool.
I like the idea of choosing a buff for yourself and one for the boss. I also like how your main attack is a dodge, and that you can dodge Adam's attack and hit him with one action. Sometimes getting hit can feel more punishing that it probably should, like I'll get hit multiple times from the same attack or comboed into an environment hazard.
It's a solid game, shame I couldn't get to see the so-called extremely funny gif of Adam getting hit by a train. Nice work :)
Thanks for your feedback! In retrospect, I should have put in a bit of a cooldown for taking hits. A lot of the logic is animation based - so maybe it would have helped to make Victor invincible while the damage animation plays.
And I may have overhyped the gif, but I think its funny :)
I loved the vibe of this game so much, and I'm a total sucker for Frankenstein, so this game is awesome.
classic horror is always a fun inspiration for characters :)
