Game's Take on the Theme
Subterranean applies spin to as many art assets and gameplay mechanics as possible: rotating projectiles, spinning dash, rotating rocks and runes; however, the most important parts of "spin" are in the three bosses. Boss 1 spins both itself and its projectiles, and during its signature cloning attack, spins about the center and itself at once to lose the player. Boss 2 is like a Rubik's cube, spinning to different sides to fight. Additionally, you must spin around the arena to kill it, all while it creates various variations of rotating attacks to fight back. Boss 3 not only has a constantly rotating design, but continuously spins the entire level, ensuring fast play and dynamic movement in the face of a shifting environment.

The graphics are really nicxe, the control feels right, I may add some more light but all is cool, also I advice you a button to skip intro, but is fgood really, I rate the graphics, fun and control on top, but all is great, also if you have time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!!

I really liked the idea of the second boss, for me, it was the most interesting. The third boss was cool too, but there were many moments where I couldn’t hit him, and I died a couple of times without a safe place to land. I just didn’t like the dash, I didn’t even use it in the game. It was too easy to fall off the platforms with it, and also because its direction was tied to the mouse instead of the movement buttons. I loved the art too, great job!

Great game! I'm a bit disappointed that the platformers attack me haha, the controls are fine, it needs a little more game feel but it's still a great game! Congratulations 🌻

Cool game, I really liked the variety of boss attacks. It was really interesting to observe all the different patterns. However, in my opinion, they were quite tanky, which made the fights feel a bit too long — I was eager to see the next one sooner. Also, the dash felt unusual since it knocked me back, but in the end, I just used jumping, and that was enough to dodge. The game looks clean and visually appealing, great job!

Thank you for the feedback on the bosses! I also think making them shorter would give a faster feeling of improvement so I like that idea. Also, the dash goes towards the cursor, so it’s supposed to be omnidirectional, giving you a second jump, a dash, or a way to reach the ground faster all in one move.

Nice work, nice bosses. Good job. Luck in the Jam!

Great boss design. Jump feels a bit clunky and I would make so you could jump a bit higher, cuz especially you notice that, when you fight 3rd boss and you like don't have a bit of jump power to jump on some platforms and such you can softlock yourself in some circumstances.

I know something felt a little off with the jump, and I think that’s likely it, especially since it would solve the many problems with creating the third level (because making platforms that work in 4 directions is hard lol). Thanks for the advice!
