How does your game fit the theme?
The core motivating goal for the player is to dive deep into a certain character's recent history and learn more about them as the narrative unfolds.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was written by me. I downloaded art and music assets from external sites (all assets are linked in the project's page).

Really awesome job of using common knowledge and hints to get to the answers you need to progress. It wasn't so obscure that you get stuck and not so easy that it was immediately obvious what to do. Great work!
I love investigation games like this! The little puzzles with ascii were very fun.
Though, I'm personally not a big fan of timed events :P. I would much rather repeat the level after a "deadly" choice, than repeat it after the time runs out, but that's just my opinion. It was also a bit weird that the detective's sprite was blurry (I don't know if you worked on Unity, but if you did, setting the sprite's "Filter Mode" to "Point (no filter)" might fix the issue).
In any case, I had fun!
Really interesting puzzles! They were really fun to figure out. Sadly, I wasn't able to solve the 3rd room.
Nice game. The puzzles start easy and become harder. I must say that the ASCII is creative, but it takes a bit too long to get the right numbers. I looked up the ACII table on the internet to help me out. Nice game! Good job
Great game, I was really invested! Typically these puzzles are either too easy or too hard, but I feel like this was done just right. The pointers were perfect, and each level had a different way of presenting the puzzles to the player. It was also cool to know from the get-go that we could expect to finish this game in 15 mins on the last playthrough - that meant players would probably spend more time on it, but overall it's not terribly long, and made respawning at the beginning a quick process rather than a nightmare. I even looked up the ASCII table! Very cool subject matter and delicately handled to show neither side is right sometimes. That said, I do have some recommendations: 1) A press to skip faster through the text would be needed in these time sensitive games, when you consult the newspaper or calendar again (otherwise you feel that you're losing precious time). 2) The narrative was captivating but a bit on the nose sometimes, or a bit old-fashioned, i.e. "your loving son", 3) I was confused that the text was telling me gameplay-wise I needed something sharp to open the level 1 box, but I never managed to get that item to get the box open - was that a red herring? 4) I didn't understand I had to go back to the table and press E again for the next letter in level 2, which made me end up guessing the code I needed between level 2 and 3 by going down the ASCII table, 5) I think the narrative could be slightly adjusted to be more inclusive, for example cutting the use of "men" to mean all people as in "mobilise our men" - women are in the army too!:] Overall, awesome replayability factor, nice you did all the code, and if you collabed with an artist in the future to make the UI stand out, then this is an awesome little game!
I enjoyed using my brain to solve what felt like fairly difficult puzzles. Great submission!
As a stupid detective, I failed to open the first door and used every clue I had in my sight. However the game seems to me to be in the theme and the graphics look good.
Cool story, I really liked the puzzle in the first room! The second one was a bit lame since you only needed the red letters. Sadly we could not figure out the third. (Edit: We figured it out now! I think it would have been cooler if you needed to read more than the red texts)
Tip: When making a pixel-art game, you should not scale the sprite since the pixels will then have different sizes. In general that will not look good.
Nice game, good puzzles but not impossible ones either. A good balance between getting a bit stuck but not feeling lost in what to do. I like the creative interpretation of the theme and not just doing another submarine in the ocean (unlike myself). Well done!
