At first I didn't understand how to build the ship, I think it would be better to be able to just pick up and then put on the grid using mouse, there is no need for it to be put in the water first imo. The sailing part is good, but lacks more gameplay, more obstacles, maybe even a storm, so far it was little boring the more I played it, it got really repetitive. But I love the visuals, sounds and music, they are the highlight of this game for me. Overall really good!

This game was an interesting  experience! I really enjoyed the visual style, especially during the raft-building phase. The gameplay has a solid concept, but I felt that some mechanics could be more challenging, especially during the sailing part. Great work and lots of creativity!

Nice game. I like the concept.
The building part has some issue in selection, and we don't really know the specificity of each block, it lack of affordance or some statistic. Some top-down character (even if it looks good)  would be more appropriate.
The transitions scenes, water shaders adds a lot.
The storm part is too easy. It need more 'storm' visually, but also in the controls. If we don't move, we must go down. Some wind could also deviate our trajectory.

We had a similar idea: "Build your own thing to prepare for the storm". Art is beautiful, I only wish that raft had more components to it, and it will affect gameplay in some way. Maybe draw a dude on the raft and show how he is paddling through the storm.

But it's a good concept and a solid entry for a jam!

Stunning graphics, really beautiful art style. The game concept is really interesting as well. I did have a little trouble with picking up items though :)

Really cool game, it took me some time to figure out how to build the boat, but after that, the game was super fun, also I like the water animation or shader, looks really amazing, and creates a lot of feel to the game!!

I made it to safety! Altough I never felt I was in danger :)
Like others said in the comments, I also first failed to create a boat and sailed with nothing at all, nothing was hitting me ofc so I thought game bugged out I restarted it but I was actually winning the game that way too. Then I figured out how to build the ship, and sailed again. That wasn't a challenge either. Dodged a few barrels and wreckage, then found out I can just leave the screen on the sides and obstacles just fly through.

Having a build and then sail phase is a neat idea but I'm not sure about the implementation. I liked the visuals except some of them looked like you scaled them up or something so resolution was low for them.

Dock's topdown and characters 2D view was weird  :) but it wasn't a huge issue.
Thanks for the entry. Hope to see better implementations of your great ideas!

Hee-ho. Nice game. Good idea

This game is pretty, I really liked the visuals, the sea looks great, the boathouse at the start is also beautiful but I’m not used to that kind of view haha. The songs fit great with the atmosphere, so in those 2 parts, this game it’s really good

The gameplay has a few issues that make it easy, if you place a plank at the start but don’t put it in the grid and just press “Done!” it will start the game with no boat, which you can’t lose because there is nothing to hit or avoid

If you build your raft, you can go out of the screen, if you go to the left or right, you can avoid everything and just wait for the land as the 1st case I said above, to avoid that, you could clamp the movement of the player so it don’t go away from the screen

Also, grabbing the 1st plank in the boathouse can be a bit hard, after that, it feels ok to interact with those objects

But the concept of avoiding the objects while enduring to reach the new land can be fun! :)

Thank you for taking the time to bring this up. We appreciate it :)  Sadly, we weren't able to get everything done in time, but we'll tackle these issues soon.

Nice artwork, the perspective on the first level melted my brain for a bit
I liked your itch page as well :P

I really liked the top-down 3d of the building phase! The visuals of it really struck me. It took me a minute to put the first piece down but it was straight-forward after that. I'm not sure if the different pieces had different effect beyond aesthetic in this version, but I like the idea!

The sailing phase could have a bit more to it. More obstacle permutations, or some mechanic to mix it up like stabilizing for a big wave. On the technical side there could be a check to make sure certain obstacle set-ups can be evaded, and maybe a timer or distance meter. But maybe it's the point that you don't know how long you'd be on the open sea.

We originally had a plan to make building materials influence some factors of the raft, like health, acceleration, max speed, etc - but that got scrapped near the end. Thanks for checking out our game!

I had no idea whar to do so I moved some carpets around and then watched things float by... Misssed the point of game but enjoyed cinematic experience with nice sound :D

This game has a lot of potential. I love the concept and it is well made! In general I think there could be more depth to a few aspects of the game. Such as during the traversal phase.

Submitted(+2)

I really love the art style and the animation that plays when you jump on the raft, but it was a bit jarring having the main character walk in the bottom area of the shack

Submitted(+3)

I love the Visual Style! Also nice Concept. I had to try a Bit at First - a Tutorial would be great. I really like the idea very much, its a Special approach!

Submitted(+3)

I wish there was a tutorial level or something to teach you how to play because I was stuck at first. Overall its a really nice game 👍

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! We'll probably add something soon to make the objective clearer.

Submitted(+2)

Interesting and detailed art style.  Not immediately obvious what's going on gameplay wise but definitely something to build on here.

Submitted(+1)

Nice concept, but in the starting phase while building the raft  I found a little bit tricky to build the raft and the sea seemed a little bit slow

Thank you for the feedback!

Interesting Graphics and Music!! but i kinda confused how to play the game?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Controls are WASD for movement and E to interact.
