How does your game fit the theme?
The player is calm in the beginning and gets progressively more and more stressed while finishing tasks in the office, if he gets too stressed, he loses the game (the storm)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I only used asset https://vnbp.itch.io/low-poly-3d-office-set-vnb for the office and some sounds from freesound.org, otherwise all code is done by me

Love the idea! I think one of the computer glitched at some point I couldn't interact with it. But other than this it's a great way to interpret the them! I had fun!

Submitted

That's a cool idea! I was really stressed when all the phones rang xD

Fun concept and very cool vibe, there definitely needs to be a mouse sensitivity slider but that’s a minor thing to fix. I love these kinds of task based games, well done!

Developer

Thanks! interesting, for me the sensitivity was fine and didn't even cross my mind this could be an issue tbh :D Will add slider next time!

i liked the concept of the game but the camera made me motion sick XD but the game is really solid!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Could you elaborate on the motion sickness? Is it because of the camera tilting or the amount of FOV change when you walk? Or maybe I noticed when you move camera while moving sideways, objects appear to be "ghosting" or jittery, but idk how to fix that.

Submitted(+1)

I feel like it is mostly the tilt and fov change it make me little disoriented

I love liminal feel in this game. It would be cool if there were more minigame tasks since those are the most stressful.

Developer

Thank you! Yes, I have planned more tasks, this was all I could put here in that short amount of time :D Will add more after rating period ends :)

Wonder whose job this is. Stressful indeed!

  • This scores very high on game feel. Really immersive.
  • Found the typing to be the most annoying. It takes a long time, and there’s an endless stream of paragraphs to type.
  • Then the telephones start ringing. You have to answer them, listen to gibberish, and put the phone down. Pretty accurate depiction of reality ;) (Although the squeaky voice was a nice touch. Somehow soothing actually, in the middle of all the stress).
  • Would be nice to have some indication of progress. Hope there’s an end to the game :)

Overall well made commentary/simulation of a stressful situation.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your review! Making the tasks annoying was partially part of my plan, since it was supposed to evoke anger and stress even in YOU as the player, challenging you to stay calm in this stressful situation and not become the storm, but I'll try to make some improvements to it. Currently there's not a proper ending, but will definitely add one later. Thank you!

Polished game, no bugs or errors found, fits the theme, especially this storm of phone calls, brrr. I think this is a very expandable project in many directions, so great job!

Developer

Thank you! Definitely gonna expand it, I have many ideas.

Submitted(+1)

I'm gonna have nightmares about these calls! XD

The idea of the game is awesome, I love this kind of thing! I'm completely immersed in the work of an office worker. I totally understood that stress between calls/computer or when you have to print something out. The only downside is that it was very painful to move, the sensitivity was too high for me :(

Developer(+1)

Okay noted, gonna make a script for basic settings which I'll add to my game jams next time, didn't have time for it this time :D Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I liked this game! It's funny how mundane, boring tasks can become stressful given a time limit.

Although; where was the quota? You lose when you get too stressed, not if you miss any quota - perhaps the game should have been named something stress-related instead? Minor nitpick, really.

Great game and great job!

Developer

I didn't have time to finish "levels" where in each you would get time limit and at the beginning of each round would be a new set of computer app tasks which you have to finish before time/stress level runs out. Definitely gonna work on this to make it better :D Thanks!

Wow this gave me flashbacks to working in the office. Finally get to sit down and type out this text.. omg why are 3 phones going off what do you want from me people?? This game was surprisingly good at making me stressed even tho I wasn't really ever in danger of my stress meter getting too full. It'd be nice if it had a flashing cursor indicator thing in the text box to know where you're typing at. Great job on this, it is impressively stressful!

Submitted(+1)

That was fun and stressful haha! Felt like I was in an office and had a feeling of neverending work. The typing and mouse clicking sounds were quite ASMR honestly, but great use of the theme!

Developer

Thank you! I do love those sounds indeed

This game definitely made me the LEAST calm out of any other submission I've played so far hahaha I absolutely love the meta approach you took to the theme, making it to where the "calmness" needed to actually come from the player and the game actively challenges it. I straight up had to pull out my phone to solve one of the multiplication problems because the phones were stressing me out a lot more than they were stressing out the character in-game! So congratulations, you broke my ability to do basic math, even if just for a moment. Well done! :D

Developer

Yes! You absolutely understood the whole idea behind it and I'm glad it worked out as I wanted :D And btw this was the easy setting, I want to add an endless mode, where eventually it will generate random equations like "2 * 4 + 1 - 5 * 3" :D Or for the text, who knows, maybe it will move like waves and change colors ;) Anyway, thank you for your review!

Submitted(+1)

I hated it, but I think that is how it's supposed to make me feel :p

Developer

Yup! I'm glad it is fulfilling its purpose :D

Hee-ho. Cool game. I like it. Thanks for good experience

Developer

You are welcome and thank you!

Submitted(+1)

The atmosphere is soo good, a bit barebones atm but can definitely imagine this being a like a stanley parable -esque horror game, with little clues hidden in the tasks and all that.

Developer

That is a good idea! Thanks! :D

I liked the typing part with the phone calls that try to distract you. The UI with the ongoing tasks is great. The difficulty could be adjusted a bit. I never got above 25%.

Developer

Thank you! Yes, currently the difficulty is very random because I didn't have time to properly implement a better way, but I want to add either levels or make an endless mode with progressively harder tasks. Or maybe you are really great at typing and managing other tasks :D

Submitted(+1)

I like the fact that there is tasks to solve in the game. But to be honest, it felt like a job. The atmosphere is interesting, very minimalistic, i think you can do something with this piece and go further. Congratulations.

Developer(+1)

I actually wanted it to feel like a job, basically making the player stressed and angry as in the game, eventually making the player become the storm. But thank you very much! I definitely wanna continue working on it

Submitted(+1)

WOW! Amazing job! Love the vibe. I kinda had the same vibe in my head for my game but didn't accomplish such a good game loop as you.

Well Done, very fun! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Definitely trying your game to prove you wrong :D

Submitted

Hahah thanks :D

2 ratings? This deserves to at least place top 50%. That was fun to manage.

Developer

Thank you so much! Didn't expect someone to play or even enjoy this :D BTw I will update the game in the future, I still have some ideas which didn't make it into the game, will add them after voting ends
