Nice game. Building, inventory, three types of tools that much mechanics is impressive for one week. Well done :)

fun and very impressive for one week! RIP the cows I killed to save all the dogs

Nice work done in a week. Save the animal.. first thing I did was look left and killed the cow... haha

Developer(+1)

haha thanks.  No one said saving the animals would come without moral dilemma

Super fun game, and the graphics were wonderful, I enjoyed playing it, great job!!

Quite good! I like the general audio management in this game. I wish the pickaxe and the shovel had some hit sounds too. Building is nice, but there seems to be some bug about the shovel...

I think I somehow digged the whole world. :D

Overall, great entry! Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

The shovel and pickaxe are indeed half baked!  I spent the time I had saved for that trying to get it working have decent on web.

Music was great and I like the concept around the theme! Very well done for a week of work!

Developer

Thank you!

Music and presentation was really good. I couldn't figure out what stone and dirt did though.

Developer

Thank you.

On dirt: Certainly not as much as the axe but you could like collect dirt and pile it up to place your buildings higher.

Nice Game.. I love Music and Concept..

Pretty crazy how much you got done in just a week. Love the audio / music!

Developer

I have a pretty long credits list.  Soundtrack is all CC0 from cynicmusic (Alex Smith).    Really excellent stuff from him so check out his work and you can use any of these tracks as well.

I ended up taking about a dozen tracks from him and tried to have them escalate but sound good together as the storm got more serious.  But cynicmusic did the real work on the soundtrack!

I really like the concept, but it was very difficult for me. I was never able to save any animals after 5 attempts. I was able to maul some pigs though lol. I did save a fox but I placed it into an already submerged kennel so I don't think it survived ;(
RIP Payton

Thank you for the feedback :)

One thing I would go back and do again is make the browser version much easier.  On desktop there's more stuff over the place so it's much easier to get the first kennel placed and then upgrade your character.

Cool game and the fact you could dig was really cool! Feel like with more time put in you could turn this into something

Developer

Thank you so much

wow, props for making a full on terraforming system in such a short time! One thing i would work on is game feel. Include more animations, particle effects, etc.

Developer

I agree I would have loved to add more juice.

Terraforming system - started with https://github.com/alpapaydin/Godot4-3D-Smooth-Destructible-Terrain and modified.

I actually have some updates I want to commit back to that project because it was a great starting point with a few issues that were easy to solve (performance, shape, etc.) and some that I haven't solved yet (when you dig you can place a hole in a seam because the world is chunked, only hard to solve because you have to accommodate for performance and probably don't want to update both those meshes at once).

Thank you for playing and the feedback :)

I fell into the void when I walk while digging. Maybe it's a collision problem

overall, I like it but just this one problem

good job🤩🤩🤩

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and the feedback.  Digging was very much WIP!

Neat idea, and it fits the theme pretty well! Notes below:

  • Given the very short time limit, collecting resources (almost all wood) takes a bit too long for my taste
  • It took me way too long to figure out that the only way to exit build mode was to switch tools.
  • Seems odd to be killing animals in a game about saving the animals :(
Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback.  I think I agree on all points.

Feeding the carnivores... ya that's just one of those tough things.  Either way you're going to have to decide which animals to save.

Pretty cool concept and game, wished the animals moved around a bit instead of standing there but overall solid game :)

Developer

Yes, haha me too.  Maybe with another month.  Thank you for playing.

i tried to play your game but looking around with the mouse did not work for me…

Developer

Thank you.  I was able to replicate this and fixed it.

Was binding mouse when player was ready but sometimes that just wasn't happening.

<3<3 for the bug report.

Wow I really respect how fleshed out this survival game is! The art style is very calming and it was very intuitive from the get go how to play. One thing I noticed is that animals don't seem to move, and adding an AI controller of some kind to allow for NPC walking paths would be kind of neat to add. Still a great game in such a limited amount of time!

Developer

Thank you so much.  Agree with your feedback :)

Really liked the game, it was very original from the rest I've tried so far! The only slight problem I had was a bit of lag when the water rises

Developer

Thank you.  I worked hard to minimize that lag haha.
