Really great game! Had a blast playing it, the concept was really simple and the clues weren't too hard to find

Not a big fan of the graphics though. I see what you're trying to do but the movement paired up with the walls looking like that felt pretty disorienting

Overall had a great time!

Cool game, very simple concept but it's very enjoyable! 7/10

Feedback (things I'd like fixed):

-Menus: As I understand it you probably did them last moment as you're using default buttons, I actually would put at least some effort into the menu as it kind of sets expecteions and is the first thing people see. Also the last menu didn't unlock my mouse which was kind of annoying that I had to quit with just an alt+f4

-Audio: DAMN, I actually got scared when the radio came on, it could use with some audio level balaning at least later on as it gets kind of annoying quick.

-Movement: It felt really slidy and didn't convay any weight to the character which makes walking feel more like steering a camera rather then a person.

-Lack of Polish: There was a few accounts of text just saying placeholder text, fixing this sort of stuff really adds to the finished expirience.

Thank you! The menu was the last thing I did and threw together so I will give more attention to it before posting the final version. The movement was fast and slidy because I forgot to slow it down before posting the game lol but I'm hoping to post a full extended version post jam.

I like the style! It matches the theme really good!

Thank you!

Nice job! I've played too many 3d games in this jam where the camera just does not work well, so glad to see yours does! (albeit with a little high sensitivity.) I like the look and the feel, and the radio stuff was really cool. Did you do the voice yourself?

My one complaint [spoilers] is that nothing actually happens if you don't do the tasks. I restarted after completing due to an audio glitch but found that if I stood around, nothing happens to the airBNB. Other than that, good job ^-^

Also, I am your 19th rating. Just one to go! :D

Developer

Thank you! My friend has a studio setup so I have him do voices he technically the second member. and yeah we have something coming post jam for if you take too long to prep

Great start to the game, wish there was a phase 2.

The radio message was a bit over the top. I laughed at the dead end hallway and gimme dat

Nice submission

Developer

been hearing a lot of people want phase 2 so maybe I’ll add something post jam I was just tryna to stay within the theme. The dead end hallway is suppose to be the entry way lol

Hey, it's a simple concept but it's fun. The puzzles work, but perhaps they lacked a little more ideas to solve them. I also think the mouse sensitivity was a little high.

The art and sound setting was very good.
Excellent work! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah I wish I woulda spent more time setting up the puzzles but I ran out and I’ll work on a settings menu for a future update

Really cool atmoshpere! Love the shader use. It was interesting to see where it was going, but it ended abruptly. Also, that corner of the house where the game starts doesn't seem to have any functional purpose, it's just a dead-end hallway.

Developer(+1)

yeah I was tryna to stay within the theme that’s why the game ends but maybe I’ll work on following part also the dead end hallway is suppose to be the front door just don’t turn around lol

Sadly no aliens but the concept is cool! Also, one table in the basement has no collider so you can just walk through. Overall good entry!

Developer

Thank you! yeah i have that fixed and will probably put out another version after the game jam

I prepared my house and sat there for 50 years

My friends were joking

10 green men out of 10

Developer

Thank you! Glad you could protect the house

That was really cool, the graphics were very nice

Developer(+1)

Thank you! i liked how the shader came out

Nice game and interesting concept, really enjoyed it!

There was calm, but... sadly no aliens.
Regardless, still fun and I love the pixelated shader and deep-fried audio :D

Developer

so 5 stars on the theme? Lol but thank you!

A neat experience . Simple, yet affective. Only things that I wanna point out are: wished that the planks that you interacted would despawn, a bit more feedback to know how much time left until the storm hits the house and check every object if it has collision or not.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah had some stuff I ran out of time at the end to do but I will double check before any other updates

Really cool, good pun title too. I really love the graphics, the posterized look is really cool. And like everyone has said, the radio message is awesome!

Minor things to look at is the windows interact text still saying "Placeholder text" and a table or two in the basement not being solid. A bit of a strange look having a player model but never seeing it outside of looking down at and through your insides lol.

Pistol saying "gimme dat" was pretty good.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah we ran out time at the end but we decided to keep working on the game so I appreciate the feedback. I do want to add an actual player model and not the base unreal model

Hee-ho. Cool game. Good job. Thanks for nice experience

Developer

Thank you!

I am always up for a good pun or wordplay, therefor I find the title hilarious and like the idea and setting!

The sound design is great as well and I absolutely respect any Game Jam Game with any kind of voice acting :D Together with the stylized graphics it quite an atmospheric bundle!

Distribution Related It took me a while to start the game, because I had to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime before I could start it. Then I had to read the UE Prerequisites and agree to them. Then I had to install the .NET Framework 3.5 All in all it was not a really frictionless process to start the game. That is not on you - I had a bare bone System in which I run the game and it is a Game Jam Game. So: much is forgiven. But if you somehow have the possibility, to distribute the game better it would make it much easier to play it.

I hope you had fun creating it. I had fun trying it out :)

Thank you! the other guy I work with has a music studio and I make him make me sounds and stuff, he's very talented!

Submitted(+1)

Sound design was really good! And if you did most of the models in a very short time congrats! They are really good. I can see how much effort you put in that game ☺ Love it!

Developer

Thank you! I used a lot of models that I made in the past and the kitchen was a free asset pack

The game offers a unique twist on the theme by combining house preparation with a mysterious alien breakout scenario. The graphics are distinct and suit the eerie atmosphere, and the audio, particularly the radio message, enhances the immersion. However, the gameplay could benefit from a clearer connection to the aliens, as they are only implied rather than directly experienced. Overall, it’s an intriguing concept with strong execution in style and sound.

Also try our game! thx in advance

Developer

Really appreciate the feedback! I am currently still adding stuff to the game, one being more alien stuff around the house to set the vibe.

Love the game!
