How does your game fit the theme?
The calm before the storm in this game is about quite literally getting yourself ready well enough to start the day. It’s all about preparing for the work ahead. The storm is trying to deal with the expectations of society despite perhaps not being your best self. The storm phase is all about you trying to do what you need to do whilst you’re in a very low state of your life, and recognising that maybe you need to take better care of yourself as a priority.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, some assets were used to fill in gaps:
Kenney - Emote icons + Textures
Code - Git-amend & DOTween

this is one great looking game, i love the artwork and animations, also the footsteps on the ground is a nice touch! the office was less of a good experience for me just repeating the shape on screen, but i did like talking to my coworkers :D

I liked the idea and graphics in home section.

I wish there was a more obvious goal in the game. It is good as an experience but feels strange as a game. I felt bad doing these minigames-duties, for some reason they made me feel pointless :D

Othar than that, nicely done!

Love the atmosphere. Though I work from home and barely do anything to prepare my day. This game made me want to consider that.

Had a great time! looking forward to your next game!

Really pretty game. Loved the perspective chosen for the home area and the shift from home to work being visually distinct was a good way to indicate the storm shift. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to leave a review! Glad you liked it!

Really well done on the look of the main character. The perspective and interaction is interesting and sets the atmosphere well, nice job on this!

Developer

It means so much to hear this feedback as the mc artist!  We're really pleased with how the vibes in the home section turned out! Thank you so much for playing!

Interesting interaction game, I didn't get the theme really but overall a nice game to do small minigames in.

I had all my bars full eventually, sad that there was no calm music or much sound (tho I read there was a bug with sounds)

Well done!

Thanks for playing and taking the time to leave feedback! Originally there was supposed to be a more strong contrast between the home (calm) and work (storm) sections of the game. The workday was meant to be more warioware style, with fast-paced mingames that are stressful to deal with. But we kind of ran out of time and the intensity of the storm was lost.

Cute game. I thought the girl looked cute

Thank you for checking it out!

Phenomenal job! The game feels fresh and exciting, with brilliant mechanics and stunning visuals. You can tell a lot of passion went into making this. Huge congratulations on such an amazing result!

Developer

Awww thank you so much for leaving such kind feedback! It means so much to hear!

Nice Idea and art, great job

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you liked it!

I love the idea and the art! Time moved very slow do, I lifted weights like 5 times in the morning. I would have expected work day to be more stressful, but it was actually pretty chill.

Developer(+1)

Thank  you!! The game definitely needs more polish and direction. The work day was intended to be more like warioware; very fast paced and stressful, and you don't get a lot of time to do things. But uh yeah that's something we'll have to work towards when we revisit the game haha

Submitted(+1)

Did you guys invent a completely new art style and game design? :ooooo

Developer

I’m pretty sure there are other games in this art style, but we definitely tried to put our own spin on it. Thanks for giving the game a go :D

I loved the slice-of-life-y concept of this game, really creative interpretation of the theme! I enjoyed all the little tasks to do! Some more feedback would be useful during certain times--for example, I wasn't sure what to do in the apartment after clicking on everything until it transitioned to the office, and at the office I didn't know what to click on or just to wait for things to come up, or what the end goal was.  But overall this was a neat little game and I enjoyed playing!

Developer

Yeah, we realised that we didn’t add a tutorial outlining the goal towards the end (oops), we’ll definitely be putting this as a high priority once we revisit the game. I’m glad you enjoyed it though, makes the hard work worth it :D

The game's art is fantastic. I especially loved the mini-game of matching the shapes.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I also really liked the matching shape mini-game, and hopefully we can add some more mini-games after the voting period to really flesh out the office section of the game. Glad you enjoyed it :D

Very interesting application of the theme. The initial part of the game’s graphics were very beautifully done.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game and for your feedback!

I would have wrote more constructive things, but other comments covered them all. :) Would you care to try out our game?

Developer

Of course! Will check it out now :)

Very relaxing atmosphere. Music choice was very nice. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! We really appreciate your feedback :)

The animations and art is fantastic.

I feel like the game is missing some key mechanics, I felt it was missing some auditory feedback for events, and I wasn't sure why and when things were happening in the game. I finished all the events in the apartment, and then didn't know what to do for a period of time, then I teleported to the office.

Overall though, I think it's a unique concept, and again, the art was brilliant.

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to play it! You're right, there are some unpolished bits in the storm section and the calm section also needs a little bit more tightening up but in the time frame we're glad the concept came through and that the art and animation have been so well received!

Submitted(+1)

Maybe the real storm was that black dude who popped out of nowhere to jump scare me!

Developer

I’ll let our NPC artist know he did a good job on him lol

Submitted(+1)

I love the artwork! Super chill game. I like our idea for the warioware type events at work, that could be a lot of fun! Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! Yeah, with some more time we would really have pushed further into the warioware-style work storm!

Submitted(+1)

Very relaxing. Great Work! I woud have hoped for more content during "work". it feels a little repetitive

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah, the office section was meant to be more like warioware. Very fast paced minigames that were both impacted by your stats and could affect your stats. Unfortunately we just didn't get enough time to properly implement it, or design enough minigames to really fill the space. It's definitely something we're looking at refining after the ratings are done.

The game's concept, graphics, music, and artwork are all really beautiful and successful. Well done and good luck!

Developer (1 edit)

Aaaah! Thank you so much! It means a lot to the whole team to hear such praise!
