It sounded like a bunch of guinea pigs bouncing around. It was a fun game. I enjoyed the strategy. That's a lot of pieces bouncing later into the game. Great job!

An amazing idea, and I found myself really enjoying it! I played about 50 pieces at a time and it was insane! A really well executed idea :)

This game is exceptional! The innovative design and engaging gameplay create a truly memorable experience. It’s clear that a lot of skill and passion went into its creation. Fantastic job on delivering something so unique and enjoyable!

Fun to play and very innovative! I played all bishops everytime until the game crashed. We both had 40+ and it was pretty hectic!

Submitted

well, that was a really cool idea! and fun!

fights felt a bit too random, and certain pieces were way more op than others but i guess such chaos is hard to balance! one suggestion would be the player deciding the order of the pieces in the battlefield. I think that would add to the strategic layer.

also loved the looks, especially in the village !

Developer

Hmm "deciding the order of the pieces" that's a great idea!
Unfortunately we can't update the game after submission :/

ok i just had to stop at round 18 'coz it crashed :D

yeah, just throwing the idea out there in case you decide to expand upon this game in the future!

keep at it, good luck!

Very interesting chess game, whih is not much about the chess but it was cool haha, it was pretty good experience, it can be even further enhanced with special powers maybe, but it might be unnatural I am not sure :D

Here is my game if anyone wants to try

A looooooooot of fun watching the pieces bounce around. It does seem like just overwhelming with numbers is the only strategy here and it can still be pretty heavily rng dependent, especially before unlocking bishops. Losing can also spiral pretty quickly if you're unlucky once. Great concept, though.

I had to the the first part over a bunch of times, but once, I got past the early part, it really start rollin'. It's a really fun idea, and the art nice, especially the little village that starts to spawn.

Oh yeah, and that great losing sound effect.

Very cool idea. Very hectic chess pieces. Good job!

Very cool idea! Played for a while, but got stuck at level 9.. Those queens!

Nice concept, and quite fun! Enjoyed experimenting with different army compositions until I decided to go all in on bishops and I hit an out of memory error when they started bouncing haha (currently using Chrome, btw).

Developer

Jeez man calm down :)))
I will into it.
Thank you for playing! <3

That's a very unique, hilarious concept! Couldn't beat the army of queens though, they'd stand next to each other as an unbreakable wall. Loved the goofiness of it. Wish I could've restarted and tried different choices.

Found it interesting and fun but had no idea how to actually strategize, particularly against wave 9. Super cool though!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I know that it is the hardest wave. I should have balanced the game more.

Strategy tip: THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS (and bishops are pretty cheap) :))

winning is difficult..  but the idea is fresh and the sound effects are cute!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Don't worry the actual game is unbeatable, cause after wave 9 the opponent mirror your army :)))

Super fun! The best strat was to spam bishops until that was not the best strat and I had to pivot lol

Developer

That's the fun part of a chaotic game :))

Thanks for playing!

Haha, amazing idea!  Really fun, couldn't get past the level with all the towers but really fun overall.

I liked the visual style and audio as well.

Submitted(+1)

The art and sounds are nicely used, but maybe add a feature to involve the player in fights, right now its just pure gambling.

Developer

Thank you for playing!
You're right and I would have loved to add some player control into it, but the time constraints were rough, cause I ditched my original idea for the jam and started this one 26 hours before the ending.

Submitted(+1)

Very silly, but in a good way.

Couldn't get past wave 9 myself, but it was fun to play to that point.

Sadly, luck was not on my side :(

While I enjoy the chaotic aspect, I wish there was a way to power up my pieces in the village or to gain an advantage somehow, right now it feels too much luck based.

Developer(+1)

The different types of pieces would be the advantage that can be gained, so the mechanism is there but it looks like it's a balancing and information presentation issue.
Thank you for your feedback and for playing!
