In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player has to "rewind" VHS games.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I did everything by myself, yes.

Legit one of the best and most creative games I've played in this jam. I love all the different minigames you have to do to rewind each tape. My only complaint is that sometimes, a customer comes by to request a game that hasn't been dropped off yet so I can't do anything about it.

Developer

Sadly that was a last minute bug that I could not fix in time, but at least, despite being frustrating, it does not really impair the game (except for the level scores). Thank you for your kind words!

This game was super fun! The visuals and take on the theme were extremely thoughtout. I had a bit of trouble with some of the mini games mainly because if I screwed up I couldn't reset in the mini game, this usually happened in the square man one.

Sound effects were satisfying but I think this game could have absolutely benefited from some frantic music in the background.

Very well done!

Developer(+1)

Unfortunately I forgot to write it in the game, but you could press V/U to eject the game, a feature that I added exactly for the complex cases that could arise from Squareman. Totally agree for the frantic music, sadly I run out of time to make/search something fitting. Thank you for your feedback!

This was a neat simulator, I like how time went by as you were in the minigame. The controls felt good, I feel like a lot of games like this make it difficult to pick up and drop items but this was smooth. This was a nice and relaxing play, I enjoyed it :)

Def a different take in rewinding the cassette. I like that I could pick stuff up with the keyboard. It's like a mini-game in a game. Nice job.

That's quite a good idea, very original!

I can't think of much to add, just like someone already said, to differenciate between rewinded and not rewinded (rewound?) cassettes

You also basically made various mini games on top of it, nice!

nice gameplay!  Loved the rewind mini game included within the game as well!

I love the screen effect and the chaotic gameplay! Nice job!

Dang, this is another 5 star game for me. Hard to give constructive feedback because it was so great. Maybe differentiate between rewound and non-rewound tapes (though I like the added challenge of having to sort tapes for myself)? And a few times customers asked me for tapes that hadn't been delivered yet. Other than that nitpicking, it was really enjoyable in every aspect!

Developer(+1)

Unfortunately, the customers-thing was some last minute bug that I didn't manage to fix in time, I'm sorry for that. I agree with you in liking the added challenge of having to sort the various rewound/non-rewound VHS, that's exactly why I didn't specify that, ahahah. Thank you for your kind words!

well-designed stress game! loved the idea of mini games inside of a game.  also i love vhs effect so much, i even added to my game.

good job really well done!

This is a great game. I had a lot of fun playing it and in the end it got very stressful in a good way. The only thing that could be better is that for some games it was hard to understand how you have to rewind them. I think if you add some more games into the game you could even sell it.

Developer

The last two games lacked in readability indeed, especially the last one, but I was quite burned out to figure out what I could do to help it.

Thanks for you feedback!

I loved it! I see in the future a really great "overcooked" style of game! Imagine this, co-op, different crazy levels, as it gets harder, it gets chaotic! Really cool game man, a hidden gem! Start working on that co-op. I would buy it to play with my friends! (I know it can be hard to make it, but start learning hahaha) It's an already used concept(like in overcooked) but with the idea of playing games to "rewind" them hahah so funny!

Hey, check it my game aswell, I would love it too!

Developer(+1)

Overcooked was definitively an inspiration (a nice way to say that I copied it) for the whole base system and I agree that co-op would be extremely interesting and possibly funny. I love good local co-op games but there seems to be quite a shortage of them in general, so may I could try to help the cause myself, ahahah.

Thank you for all your kind words, I'll check your game as soon as I have time!

I really enjoyed this game. Super polished and easy to understand. Each mini-game felt unique and interesting. Great job.

The screen effect is super cool! And it was fun to figure out how to fill up the whole path.  Great job~

really enjoyed it!

amazing that this was made in a week

Love the retro aesthetics of this game and the sound design. The minigames were short and sweet.

You got the theme, I like the idea of the rewind process for the VHS..

Goog Job.

Fantastic game, I love the idea of having to rewind different games along with the management of the rental shop (something that is long gone where I am). This would be great to see taken into a fully fledged game! The only issue I came across was that some customers came in asking for a game that I didn't have yet.

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words!

I did think about expanding it, but honestly I can't imagine how can I expand this in order to not make it really repetitive (aside from adding more games of course). Maybe multiplayer would be a nice addition.

I found out the customers bug last minute, so  sadly I couldn't fix it in time.

Submitted(+1)

That's true, but it could work well as a mobile game, maybe having different locations, store upgrades, etc.

Developer

I totally forgot about mobile games existing ahahah, that's an interesting possibility. Thank you for the suggestions!

Great minigame aesthetic, but the pickup/drop cassette scene feels out of place compared to it. Game runs a bit too fast on my end, super fast movement and can't control the characters too well. I love the idea of the game, definitely one of the few that does theme really well!

Developer(+1)

I wanted to make the difference between the minigames (the first two inspired by old Atari classics and the last two by NES graphics) and the shop scene very tangible, but it may have gotten a bit out of hand. As for the movements, I could handle the character quite precisely, but it probably came out of the fact that I had played it for a long time. I always have a great lack of external feedbacks when I make games and I'm not good at all at balancing things by myself, ahahah. Thank you for your feedback anyway!

Great Game! It gets very stressful in later levels.

Developer

I couldn't get anyone to playtest the game, so it was really difficult for me to try and understand how to ramp the difficulty in a smooth way sadly. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Oh no I meant stressful as in frantic as in a good way! It was really fun!

Developer

Oh, that's great then ahahah, thank you!
